Overview

The Sanlagosa Concordant, known also as the "Sanlagosa Empire," or the "Seraphnim-Secundus" was an interstellar-interspecies autocratic alliance found within the Eastern Systems (formerly Seraphnim Space) regions of Ambrosia's Realm of Resonance. Founded by the Concordant's namesake, the Sanlagosa species in 5,000 TI (Time Immemorial), the Concordant had managed to dominate large swaths of navigable space, having been able to expand themselves unabated after their victory over the Ragnalith Dark Empire in 3,000 TI, then dominate power over the region.

At its peak, the Sanlagosa Concordant held control over roughly 50,000 star systems within the known galaxy, albeit this level of control being often varied from system to system. The Concordant would remain uncontested over its control of galactic space, until the creation of the "Ambrosia Alliance of United Systems" in 1 AGY, (Ambrosian Galactic Year) which itself had been formed in response to Sanlagosa incursion into the Western regions of the Realm of Resonance.

Origins of the Sanlagosa and the Concordant

While the Concordant may have a history long before our modern era, the Sanlagosa which founded it have a history much longer before. Having been created by the ancient all-powerful Inomeni race, the Seraphnim, the Sanlagosa were the single most powerful Condevi of their day. Each one held the personal strength to shatter mountains, whilst the higher of them could destroy entire worlds. This immense strength was granted to them by their creators in order to do battle with the Seraphnim's ancient enemies, the Isariel. The Sanlagosa unfortunately would only enjoy moderate success in their role, and ultimately it'd be made irrelevant following both the Seraphnim and Isariel's destruction at the hands of the Void in 70,000 TI.

The Concordant was famed for its rigid hierarchical structure and relentless expansionist policies, the Concordant enforced unity among its diverse member species through a combination of military might, cultural assimilation, and advanced technological supremacy, with the structure of the Concordant operating under a strict racial hierarchy, with the Sanlagosa themselves sitting at the top pedestal. The Sanlagosa Concordant's relentless drive for expansion was bolstered by its ability to reverse-engineer ancient Seraphnim technologies — or even the odd Isariel artifact, granting them unparalleled advancements in weaponry, starship design, and planetary control systems, which were key to maintaining dominance over its vast and diverse holdings.

Rise of Absalon and the Concordant's Dominance

Throughout its existence, it was solely ruled by "Absalon," the former commander of the Consecratum which his people emerged from. He would remain its leader until his death at the hands of Syx Corsage, however in his time, he would manage to carve his people a mighty interstellar empire, ensuring Sanlagosa hegemony over the stars for thousands of years.

The Concordant's beginnings followed the awakening of a long forgotten Sanlagosa-Consecratum, the large complex interstellar craft containing thousands of Sanlagosa in stasis. This one, like the tens of thousands formerly a part of the Collective of the Golden Sovereign (Seraphnim Collective), were created to be sent to Isariel worlds and embed themselves within them, then, create more and more Sanlagosa to combat the Seraphnim's contemporaries. Having made its way to the former Isariel world of Yeglaw, the respective Consecratum would embed itself into the moon.

However, unbeknownst to its occupants, the Seraphnim activated their all-powerful super weapon known as "Finality," which had eradicated all life across Ambrosia in order to stop the Void dead in its tracks during the peak of the collective's wave of destruction across the whole of space. Yet the occupants of the Yeglaw-Consecratum would remain unaffected, seemingly anomalously to themselves. Now without a masters or an enemy, the Sanlagosa were free to spread themselves amongst the stars, though their inherent nature would remain.

The Concordant's End

In the thousands of years of its existence, the Concordant was the leading force of most major historical events within the known galaxy. Towards the end of their reign, they would launch the Havriel Crusade in 34 EE (Ends Emergence), as the Concordant's ruling Sanlagosa had been deceived into believing that the aforementioned Havriel species were descendants of their ancient enemy, the Isariel. With an immense superiority over the Havriel Alliance in technology and military, they would quickly decimate the species, ultimately causing their total extinction a mere They would remain the known galaxy's dominant force until their destruction at the hands of Syx Corsage and Seven Novum, later known to history as the universe's "Great Dyad" in 84 EE.

The ruin of the Concordant followed as a consequence of its ruler’s destructive actions. Absalon’s brutal slaughter of the Havriel had already begun to tear the Concordant apart, driving it toward open civil war. Yet even the rebels knew nothing of the true reason behind their Sovereign’s madness.

In his private explorations, Absalon had managed to locate what his Seraphnim creators had called the "Key to End's Beginning." None knew its purpose save him — it was the starting point of a map leading to the location of Finality itself. And much alike the Seraphnim before him, Absalon sought Finality not to wage conquest, but to avert a catastrophe that none but he had foreseen: the reemergence of the Void. In his growing desperation, Absalon came to believe that the only way to stop the Void was to ignite Finality once more, as the Seraphnim had done long ago-even if it meant annihilating all life in existence in the process.

Convinced that the destruction of all life within the universe was the only way to prevent the Void's return, Absalon secretly worked to enact this apocalyptic plan. He deceived his Sanlagosa brethren and their subjects into assisting him, guiding them toward their own destruction under the guise of securing the Concordant’s ultimate victory. His growing madness led him to ignite world after world of the Concordant, sacrificing entire planets in a desperate attempt to stall his enemies and bring about the final detonation of Finality.

Yet Absalon would ultimately fall at the hands of the Dyad, as would his great empire. In his final moments, Absalon’s actions were revealed not as the work of a tyrant seeking domination, but as the misguided efforts of a broken being trying to save existence through destruction. His failure marked not only the end of the Concordant but the narrow salvation of the universe from a second cataclysm.

After its destruction, the former Concordant holdings split amongst themselves, some being subsumed by other contemporary powers, whilst others forming their own governments comprising former Concordant species and worlds. These nations formed from regions of Sanlagosa space after their collapse are collectively known as the "Concordant-Breakaways," with the former Concordant-Remnant being the most prominent immediately following Absalon's death, until they too faced the Great Dyad's retribution.

Government

Structure

The structure of the Sanlagosa Concordant operated a strict hierarchal, pseudo-meritocratic and ethnocentric system, with it ultimately being ruled at its highest echelon by a sole autocratic dictator, of course being Absalon himself. Everyone, regardless of race had nearly every aspect of their lives viewed and reviewed by a complex web of inter-social policies and regulations, ran and catalogued by a council of reversed-engineered Seraphnim archivist AIs known to the aforementioned ancient race as "Oracles." The Oracles, with their unparalleled computational and predictive capabilities, not only ensured the Concordant's internal cohesion, but also provided strategic foresight that enabled the Sanlagosa to anticipate and neutralize threats across their territorial holdings across the galaxy, cementing their dominance for millennia.

Within the system spawned through Oracle review and catalog, a hierarchy of the populace was formed. Those who showed the greatest levels of subservice to the Sovereign Absalon were often given greater standing in every aspect of their lives. With near every moment documented, a note of "Concordant Loyalty" would be credited to the respective individual, often equating to blind loyalty to Absalon and polices/actions enacted by him. With these "Loyalty Points," as they came to be known, individuals gained access to a variety of privileges and opportunities. These included improved housing and job prospects, increased wages, enhanced medical treatment and coverage, and even greater success in their romantic or sexual pursuits with their desired partners. Those with high scores often found that others in their daily lives displayed a noticeably warmer and more favorable disposition toward them.

Those who showed measures of critical thinking, or even rebellious tendencies were given far less privileges, and may even face prosecution if the thoughts seem to begin to show as belligerent action. However, whilst one may feel repercussions in their original immediate lives should they act out of-turn with Absalon's will, new opportunities may present themselves to those deemed to be of particular interest. This is because of the Sovereign's belief that those with open-minds, while posing a threat to his regime, also provide unique insight to innumerable sections of governance that Absalon himself is unable or unwilling to enact himself. Often these types are given the choice of servitude in this role, or summary execution — most chose the former. It was often these individuals who became the Concordant's greatest commanders in the nation's history, such as Solaris Veshron, who would later become Sovereign of the Concordant-Breakaway "Swords of Anchorage."
