Abystyx is a fantasy world shaped like a capsule, layered into the open-air Surface and the stony Abyss. It is currently closed to collaboration, Generally the scope has a dark fantasy theme, with a good chunk of inspiration coming from a combination of the medieval and ancient Levant. The world is vast, melancholic, and mythic.

Collaboration

Abystyx is closed for collaboration, and will likely remain so unless sword-of-stabbing is satisfied with his work on the scope. As it is now, it is mainly in progress, being shaped around a single storyline.

World

Abystyx is an isolated capsule, split into a dome of air seated on top of a rougher dome of earth. This comprises the entire realm, so to speak, aside from a firmament of stars that swirls around the capsule. The world is divided into several layers, from the skies only reached by mountain peaks, to the Surface where Earth meets Sky, to the Abyss that goes to the bottom of the world, where Hell lies. Much of the world is defined by an eight-element system of archetypes, including the magic system, alchemy, and characters. These elements both reflect different types of "stuff" such as cold, as well as different concepts, like reason.

The world of Abystyx is melancholic and foreboding. Outside of the wealthy cities, fear and sadness reign. The ruins of malicious ages past still haunt the present, monstrous beings stalk the skies, lands, and caverns, and evil things lurk just out of sight. Despite it all, hope still remains, at least for some.

Format

Abystyx will mainly be told in narrative form, so most of the work will be done as tales; as such, many in-universe documents or wiki-style articles may contain spoilers for information meant to be revealed in a tale. Because of this, it is recommended to read each story in order to experience this scope.
