"And the Lord set a mark upon Cain"
This content is a part of Gears and Rooks.

Set in a Victorian Era Dark-Fantasy World, Gears and Rooks is an anthology of tales and articles focused on world building. The primary origin behind the creation of Gears and Rooks, is my love for fantasy, but dislike of the lack of variety in a lot of fantasy worlds; like the world, like how they are almost always in a medieval setting. Gears and Rooks exists as a unique world that combines the elements of magic, fantastical creatures, and legendary heroes and villains of fantasy, with the elements of industrialization, technology, and ever-perilous lives of the Victorian Era and the wider scope of storytelling genres the era has incidentally created.

Overview

Gears and Rooks is an anthology that will have tales and articles on people, places, and events spread across a period of roughly a century. A largescale war in the old continents at the turn of the century is what brought about this period of industrialization and technological advancements, while also forcing millions to seek refuge in the young nations that make up the new continents. One of these individuals is Lulu Knavermoore, a Corvidian, who after fleeing from the turmoil in the old continents, to the new frontiers of the new continents, became a wandering warlock, having made a pact with the spirit of Cain. Lulu serves as one of the central and most frequently recurring characters throughout the tales of this world, alongside the likes of Matilda and Peyton Snaggle, Harold Fraizer, and Heiko Von Kuriermann.

Contribution Guidelines

As this is a scope focused mainly on worldbuilding, it is very much open to contribution! But there still are a few guidelines:

  • Run contributions by me first - You can easily contact me @ MockingMaeve on discord through messaging me via the Amaranth Legacy server. Chances are, as long as your contribution fits the world and time period, I will be more than happy to have you add it to this scope. This goes for any characters, creatures, tales, locations, or events you may want to add to the scope
