Scope: Thirteenth Assemblage
IN LORE ARTICLE CONCERNING THIRTEENTH ASSEMBLAGE CAN BE FOUND HERE:
Overview
Thirteenth Assemblage is a collaborative Scope in active development headed by LordSkorne7, and is inherently meant to be divided amongst a selection of community authors on a first come first serve basis. Each member currently a part of this Scope has claimed ownership of one of the thirteen determined star systems in which this Scope takes place; each being of the thirteen closest star system to that of the Sol System (Solar System)
The genre of Thirteenth Assemblage is strictly sci-fi, set in a "low-tech" interstellar setting. The level of technology is one of the most defining features of the Scope, as it limits interstellar travel and communication to rudimentary methods, creating a sense of isolation and fostering unique cultural, political, and technological developments in each star system. Advanced AI, and energy weapons are non-existent, with most technology reliant on practical, resource-driven engineering.
How to Collaborate
Thirteenth Assemblage is completely OPEN to collaborate, however, this Scope is inherently linked to a set of predetermined rules. These rules are as followed:
Setting
The Thirteenth Assemblage Scope takes part within the thirteen closest star systems to the Solar System ONLY. These means no additional region beyond this determined range shall be added. The individual content within these systems is solely determined by the author themselves, and while authors are free to add fictitious bodies or arrangements to the systems themselves, we ask that existing confirmed planets are used in the systems and worked around.
These systems are as followed:
- Alpha Centauri (Claimed by LordSkorne7)
- Barnard's Star (Claimed by mMONTAGEe and TheStellarExplorer)
- Wolf 359 (OPEN)
- Argelander - Formerly Gliese 411 (Claimed by ThatVenusian)
- Sirius (Claimed by SunlitSmoothie)
- iSimangaliso - Formerly Gliese 65 (Claimed by MinmusDerp)
- Tautarus [TEMP] - Formerly Ross 154 (Claimed by Ameoba)
- Ross 248 (OPEN)
- Ran - formerly Epsilon Eridani (Informally claimed and developed by SunlitSmoothie)
- Gliese 887 (OPEN)
- Ross 128 (OPEN)
- EZ Aquarii (OPEN)
- Procyon (Claimed by Duodecillionaire)
Additionally, each system acts on a system of author claims, meaning once a system has been claimed by an author, then that system is taken by them and is solely to be written by them alone. If an author who has claimed a system fails to write on it for a long swath of time, then that system will be made OPEN for anyone to claim and redo.
If you want to do any system, comment on this page, or message LordSkorne7 over on our Discord. Be sure to let me know what you're wanting to do in it!
Within the range of the 13 Assemblages, there are two additional brown-dwarf systems not counted as proper star systems. These desolate systems are OPEN for constructive collaboration by authors, with no definitive claim beyond the precedent of existing content. However, the scale and power of these systems are likely to be orders of magnitude less than any of the actual Assemblages.
The brown dwarf pseudo-Assemblages are as follows:
- Luhman 16 (FRESH AND UNUSED)
- WISE 0855−0714 (MINT CONDITION, NEVER OWNED)
Timeline
The current year of Thirteenth Assemblage is 2,500 CE, and does not go beyond this date. As well, historical events are limited to begin around 2,100 CE, meaning things cannot be written prior to this date beyond general formation histories of star system bodies. This is to keep the Scope's focus to the most salient parts in the histories.
Inhabitants
Thirteenth Assemblage is solely inhabited by the Human-race, meaning there are no additional species that can be added. As well, no alien life in general beyond simple bacterial life can be found anywhere else in the galaxy, and instead, all life within systems are genetically altered life imported from the planet Earth.
Technology
The technology level of Thirteenth Assemblage is characterized as "low-fi sci-fi," with practical, resource-heavy designs over sleek, futuristic aesthetics. Interstellar travel exists but is slow and resource-intensive, with trips between the inhabited star systems taking decades. Spacecraft are colossal, industrial constructs engineered for endurance rather than elegance. Their primary purpose is to transport goods or engage in combat with overwhelming brute force rather than agility.
Combat between ships involves kinetic weaponry, such as magnetically propelled projectiles—essentially hurling massive hunks of metal at devastating speeds. Ships are heavily armored, designed to absorb punishment through multiple layers of reinforced material rather than relying on advanced shielding technology, which doesn’t exist in this universe.
Please keep these rules in mind when adding onto this Scope so that we can keep its theme intact between articles/authors!
