Slavery is a concurrent and diverse labor practice, which mostly corresponds to the aggressiveness of a species or nation. Slavery comes in many different forms, from Brutal Slavery to Faint Slavery. Slavery also has many different causes, treatments, and lifestyles.
Labor Scale
While observing the many kinds of forced labor, many science groups from across the Virgo Supercluster decided to create a scale of labor, known as the Labor Scale. The Labor Scale bases forms of forced labor against many factors, like the quality of life, work hours, and general freedom. The list below is a rough compilation of forced labor from worst conditions to best.
Slavery Types
Brutal Slavery
Brutal Slavery is often known as a very labor-intensive and extreme form of labor, mostly used by Type-0 civilizations. Other and much more aggressive Type-I to Type-II civilizations often use Brutal Slavery mainly as a form of punishment and enforcement of power. Brutal Slavery is most commonly given to any enemies of the state to a nation.
Brutal Slavery most likely involves very unrealistic work hours, cumbersome workloads, and severe punishment. The people who are punished will most definitely be worked until they die.
Spite Slavery
Spite Slavery is a rare and vengeful type of slavery. Spite Slavery is often given to any species of an enemy nation, or if they are a general enemy of the state. Spite Slavery can often shift from Brutal levels to Mid-Ground levels. Most of the time, victims of Spite Slavery are given harsh labor, minimal rations, and often punished for being enemies.
This type of slavery was first seen in Humanity as they spread across the stars. It was also seen in the War of the Ancients.
Military Slavery
Military Slavery is used as a form of combat in wartime. These Slaves usually placed on the front lines, most of the time against their will. Some are used as soldiers while others are used for other military tasks such as weapons production, the training of other Military Slaves, and for healing troops when no alternatives are available.
Military Slavery often contains members from an enemy nation, forced to fight their people against their will.
Essential Slavery
Essential Slavery is a rushed and uncommon form of slavery, used when civilization is very desperate for resources and production. Many Essential Slaves often know their duty as desolate workers for failing nations, with minimal resistance being seen as that would halt resource production.
At this dire level, civilizations are near collapse or extinction. However, any that survive will inevitably phase out Essential Slavery altogether.
Clone Slavery
Clone Slavery is an uncommon and rather careless type of slavery, most apparently seen in the Lewis Nations. (see below) This kind of slavery is based on the idea of cheap and submissive labor, brought upon by genetic alteration. Most nations with Clone Slavery usually do this for when robotics are not required in their labor. With enough time, almost all Clone Slaves get replaced by more efficient and eventually cheaper robots, making them obsolete.
Clone Slavery is also used by areas or civilizations that do not specialize in mechanical workers. It is known to be very efficient as genetic engineering can mentally force Clones to be submissive and physically dominant.
Clone Slavery in the Lewis Nations
Clone Slavery is primarily used as a kind of vanity for the upper class of the Lewis Nations. While some Non-clones (Human born Slaves) in the Lewis Nations can often be freed one day, clone Slaves always remain a slave and aren't considered as real people by the Lewis Nations. This submissiveness is the reason why Clone slavery has been replacing other forms of Slavery in the Lewis Nations.
Domestic Slavery
Domestic Slaves are those who live more comfortable lives. They are used by their owners for domestic and personal tasks. Usually, they serve entire families, and they do all sorts of housework, from buying things for the household to cleaning, taking care of offspring, and of the daily routines of their masters.
