Solarian Confederation

The Solarian Confederation is the main governing body of the Sol System. Its purpose is to unite all of Sol under one set of laws and one government, while also regulating the economy.

Overview

The Solarian Confederation is made up of many other states existing across the Sol System, such as the Jovian Protectorate, Georgium and Lunar Republic etc.

History

The Solarian Confederation was created by the United Nations Celestial Federation in 2134, itself created to organise the many space programs of Earth in 2050, as a means to unite the many colonies springing up around Sol. It has since remained as the head of operations for affairs relating to the solar system and ships bound for already-colonised systems.

Throughout its history, the Solarian Confederation has helped keep Saturn's rings in shape, preventing miners from altering them, and it has kept famous landmarks such as Olympus Mons and Mimas' massive crater safe from mining, construction and explosive tests, but it has also provided free transportation for citizens of allegiances within the confederation, and deals with traffic across the solar system.

From 2134 to 2549, its capital was on Earth until a vote was put into place between the people of Earth and Mars to change the capital to Mars. More votes went towards Mars as the lower gravity and the burgeoning society there made it more favourable for space affairs. From there on out, the Red Planet was made the capital of the Solarian Confederation, with the headquarters being in Olympus City.
