"Even if you think someone is beyond saving - Try to save them. If not for their sake, for your own. Cruelty kills the spirit - You owe yourself that spirit. Do not surrender it so easily." - Takeoff, advocating for the reintegration of the Titanic States of Saturn to the Stjarna Union.
Regarded as a legend by the Suratronics, a traitor by the Mechatar, and as 'The Redeemer' to the Cosmic Union, Takeoff is a Vystallan, who took part in the Suratronic-Mechatar War, and in the Quartet Conflict.
Originally from the megacity of Tarmacht, Takeoff worked in construction before he joined the Mechatar movement during the Clampdown, seeking an end to the Regime. Shortly following the toppling of the Regime, inspired by the rhetoric of Navkreig, he took part in the invasion of Gearwerk, intending to destroy the Suratronic Faction. Throughout it all, he questioned it's necessity, but still partook, hoping a greater Vystall was at the end of it. Despite his doubts, he served with distinction.
After many decades of war, the Mechatar, seeking new bio-tech, expanded their searches into new space. It was here that they found the Titanic States of Saturn, and struck a deal to aid in the destruction of the Inner Worlds in exchange for assistance in the war. It was during this conflict Takeoff was deployed the Inner Worlds of the Cairn of Light. He was present during the invasion of Valkrave, but would later be redeployed to Verdrasil when the Elvendritch attacked through the Node.
Considering himself a warrior, and not an architect of slaughter, Takeoff was initially horrified by the attacks against the Kin. It was not until he saw their resilience, and ability to fight using Traits and Taekni that be respected their ability. From there, he became enamoured by Kin culture in particular, seeing them as both honourable and compassionate, yet lacking the weakness of will that he felt the Suratronics had.
