What is this, some kind of Strata Verse?
This content is within or about the Strataverse.

The High Sun's rays bounced over the endless grass in front of me, cool winds carrying its Scent into my nose. Days like these were not rare, I can remember having days like this since I was my brother's size, but these days always seemed to be good ones. I could hear my Brother asking our mother once again when the Rabbit would be ready. “In time, you won’t be hungry for much longer” my mother assured him once more. My father was nearby, out doing his regular search for any possible Creatures which had come a short walk of our Cave. I looked back to the Cave, so I could see my mother roasting the rabbit Father had caught that morning on a Mammoth bone. I began to smell it, its scent was intoxicating, I had begun to lose myself to it when the sound of my fathers running snapped me back to reality. I had only seen him like this a few times before, his face was cold, like the one he has when we hunt, but I could see a look of distress and even fear dangle from his eyes. “They followed me, it's the things I saw on my last hunt” he remained focused like always but I could feel his enter me like a gust of wind. “Boys come inside” our mother called as me and my little brother instantly ran towards the cave. She quickly put out the fire and threw the rabbit off.  “What is it mommy?” my brother asked. “Nothing good. she responded. I looked back out towards the steppe and saw what father had seen, in what was only a sprint away I could see three creatures approaching, one of them looked like a lizard yet stood upright like a man and had horns like a goat. The second one looked almost Human but had two giant wings like a bird. The third one stood behind the other two, it also looked like a lizard but unlike the other one, it stood more like how mighty eagles hang off cliffs, and its face had a single horn like that of a Rhino.

I didn't have time to see anything else as my mother began leading us to the back of the cave while father grabbed a spear. At the back of the cave there were a couple small spaces. We had used these spots many times before, and mother and father had told us that if there was ever danger that we were to stay in here until the danger was gone. “Stay in your spots and don’t leave until we come back, mommy and daddy are gonna handle this” she assured us as we quickly hid in the little pockets of the cave wall. I crawled into the dark little space and huddled myself into a corner where no one from the outside could see me. As I finished huddling myself I went silent and began to listen for anything. I heard my father make a hunting scream and then sounds of fighting with various strange sounds coming from those things, but it didn't last long as I heard the sounds of my parent’s screams rise then stop cold. I stayed still, despite wanting to cry, I didn't make a sound out of fear, then I heard steps, steps coming down the cave towards me. I heard my brother scream and then the sound of a wing flapping as my brother's screams suddenly stopped.

Then I saw it, its jaws slowly crept into the cavity where I was before it turned its head towards me. I couldn't move, I knew at that moment I was going to die, its eyes looked at me, and all I could do was stare at my fate, but nothing happened. It looked into my eyes and I know it could see the fear in mine. At that moment another one called out a sound “Regulando” before it pulled its head out of the space and produced another call before I could hear the footsteps leave the cave. I stayed there for a long time, unable to leave, but eventually I was able to crawl out of the space, by then only the sun's last light remained and I was able to see what had become of my family, blood soaked the cave walls, clothes torn, but one thing finally caused me to fall to the ground and cry. I looked at what had become of my family and yet I could see none of their faces a final time, all of their heads were gone, taken by those things, gone with the wind.
