Terrellian

Terrellians are a sapient species of septapodal scavengers, characterized by their armor-plated skin, muscular frame and violent, antisocial tendencies. Native to the planet Frasnia-Fammenia they have since colonized other planets in their solar system, such as Frasnia-Anthodirr.

They bear a striking similarity to the Placoderm fish from Earth, Dunkleosteus as well as Sea Stars, and could reasonably be described as looking like a combination of the two species.

History

The first anatomically modern Terrellians evolved about 8 million years ago, like the other species in their taxonomic family, Terrellians evolved to be highly efficient coastal scavengers. They lived mostly solitary lives only coming together to mate or when a large carcass would wash up on the beach.

Social Structure

Naturally an Extremely anti-social species Terrellian society exists only as a response to the galactic community at large. They work together out of the logical knowledge it is to keep their species as a whole safe and prosperous. There are delegates, planetary representatives, a planetary science team and a bare bones world-government otherwise Terrellians still remain on their own, unless a war breaks out, at which point they will tolerate others sharing their beliefs in order to brutally kill those that hold opposing views. But these idealistic wars are rare, given that most Terrellians couldn't care less about what other Terrellians do or believe.

Being hermaphroditic Terrellians have no concept of gender, therefore no gendered language or dominant sex. Though Terrellians with higher levels of testosterone tend to be stronger and therefore more dominant in the society.

Terrellians have no economy to speak of but many will find work as hired muscle for other species as many are drawn to the interplanetary trade markets. Gravitating to various meats and trinkets they can store away for themselves. While some other Terrellians not willing to work for other species form piratical gangs, raiding spaceports and freighter routes for valuables and then fighting amongst themselves for who gets to keep the bounty.

Appearance and Biology

Pre-industrial Terrellians were the largest scavengers in their ecosystem and would use their size and immense strength to bully other scavengers away from carcasses or chase of predators who had killed something within their territory. Terrellians would find these carcasses with their highly advanced senses, particularly smell, being able to sniff out blood or rotting flesh from over 60 miles away. They would then track down the smell and locate it, which, due to their slow land speed would often be rotten by the time they got to it.

Rotten meat posed no significant risk to a Terrellian’s health though. As they possess some of the most powerful stomach acids on their planet.

Terrellians are hermaphroditic, possessing male and female organs, this allows the normally solitary Terrellians to minimize contact with one another, while also maximizing the chances of reproduction

Powers

Super Strength - Terrellians are extraordinarily strong able to lift several tons with ease.
Armor - A Terrellians thick armor provides them effective protection from all sorts of physical blows and can even deflect bullets and energy blasters.
Adrenal Control - Terrellians can consciously control the levels of adrenaline in their body, which can increase their strength, speed, agility, reflexes and pain resistance.
Disease Immunity - the immune system and stomach acids of Terrellians give them an immunity to nearly every known disease in the universe. They are able to eat any degree of rotten or putrefied meat without contracting anything. They can even resist the bites of the undead.
