The River of Heaven Flows Ever Onward...
This content is a part of Local Universe.

Thenzalora is the Thulcandran Federation’s first colony world within the Via Aurum.

History

Thenzalora formed from the planetary disk of its parent star around six billion years ago. The fourth planet of its system, the world has been heavily bombarded in the past due to the lack of a planet large enough to shield from the comets throughout the star system. As such, intelligent life has not evolved yet on the planet.

In the year 124596 CE, a scout ship from the newly relocated Thulcandran Federation discovered Thenzalora and its star system. At the time of its discovery the planet had just been impacted by a comet and was slowly rebuilding itself. Colonists from both Thulcandra and Windrup decided to co-settle this planet and utilizing genetic engineering brought back local plants and animals which had become extinct due to the asteroid impact.

The planet flourished and soon became a major hub for tourism, trade and cultural exchange among all the races who had emigrated from the Milky Way to the Via Aurum.

Cultural Significance

As this world was the first to be settled after the Fleet of Systems emigrated to the Via Aurum, it has become as famous as many of the original Federation star systems. The world has an abundance of diverse human and alien cultures interspersed among the population, making it one of the more unique planets in the Via Aurum.

Native Life

Native life on Thenzalora consists of a plethora of diverse plant and animal life, the plant life consisting mostly of tall trees due to the planet’s lower gravity. More lifeforms on Thenzalora are able to fly because of this, specifically the Thenzaloran Dragon, a reptilianoid creature that can incapacitate its prey by spitting a form of acid on it and rendering it immobile as the Dragon devours its meal.

One plant in particular that caught the interest of the colonists was the Dandelion Tree, a large treelike plant which is the most widespread across the planet due to the way it reproduces. It releases spores that are caught on the winds similar to how a terrestrial dandelion reproduces. These trees are known to live for many centuries but every ten local years they blossom and spread seeds much like a dandelion.
