Description
The Thesoki are a sapient species and the dominant inhabitants of the planet Thesoki (Planet). When the Confederate scout ship first discovered them, the crew remarked on their striking resemblance to Humans, with similar humanoid features.
Thesoki have an average lifespan of 410 years and typically produce two offspring throughout their lives. Their extended lifespan allows them to witness multiple generations of descendants, often knowing great-grandchildren before their passing. They reach reproductive maturity around 35 years of age, with a gestation period of 4-6 months.
Physically, they are bipedal with height averaging 1.74 meters across genders. Their facial features are human-like, with larger eyes and fuller lips. Unlike Humans, their eyes twinkle when displaying affection, and their hair is more akin to short, soft fur rather than traditional human hair. Additionally, Thesoki lack eyebrows.
Their vision is adapted for both visible and infrared light, a necessity due to their dimmer sun. This allows them to detect heat signatures, making them highly adept nocturnal hunters. Their primary defensive mechanism includes hissing and spitting poisonous saliva at perceived threats.
Culture
Upon first contact with the Confederacy of Humanity, the Thesoki leader at the time, Chaki, enthusiastically shared a vast trove of cultural knowledge with the newcomers. In turn, the Confederacy was fascinated by their traditions and customs. One of the first observations made by the Confederate team was the Thesoki's obsession with jewelry, as well as the lack of any visible signs of aging among the species.
The foundation of Thesoki culture lies in an ancient text known as "Genesis of the Thesoki", which was written over several generations thousands of years ago. This text serves as both a historical account and philosophical guide for the Thesoki people. While some modern Thesoki have challenged its relevance in contemporary society, the majority still adhere to its teachings.
In the past, the Thesoki have had conflicts with the Zythyn species due to rapid Zythyn expansion encroaching on Thesoki territory. Tensions escalated to border wars, though by 12,000 CE, the Lowzyol Federation intervened and facilitated the slow ceding of territorial claims to the Thesoki within M110 and Andromeda.
T-Units
The T-Unit is the official currency of the Thesoki. First established during the creation of the United Thesoki Republic in 97,400 CE, it remains the primary economic system in their civilization.
