Thylacanthrope
Thylacanthropes, also known as Marsupial Men and sometimes referred to as 'Elves', are a species of marsupial that evolved in Beringia during the last Ice Age.
History
Thylacanthropes evolved from carnivorous South American marsupials about 800,000 years ago. They then migrated across North America before settling in Beringia, before sea levels rose and isolated the islands of Moshkho and Weepria from the rest of the world.
Appearance and Biology
Thylacanthropes have a pair of long, stabbing teeth on their lower jaw, that their ancestors had used to kill prey, though now the species relies heavily on foraging for food, causing their teeth to shrink. Like all marsupials Thylacanthropes are born extremely premature and will crawl up their mother's belly until reaching her pouch where it will begin drinking milk for the next several months. They are social, living in "clans" of up to 30 individuals, allowing them to easily gather food and explore new areas. Their relationship with their Anthroposaur neighbors is complex and variable, ranging from relatively peaceful to extremely dangerous, with groups of Thylacanthropes being known to swarm and kill certain Anthroposaurs on occasion.
Powers and Abilities
Thylacanthropes are intelligent mammals, having a basic understanding of tools, they are known for stealing from Anthroposaurs, as well as learning from their behavior. They are arboreal, able to climb trees and buildings with ease, they are not restricted to the canopy however, able to move quickly on the ground as well.
Miscellaneous
- In Weepria, Thylacanthropes are a traditional dish, this is not the same in Moshkho however, with it being looked down upon.
