Unknowable Ancient Time
- In the beginning, there was only primordial chaos: an infinite set of opposing forces colliding without order or purpose. Until one day, for no apparent reason, entropy reversed, giving way to order, to the cosmos. And with it emerged countless worlds—an infinite set of realities—thus marking the beginning of the multiverse.
- One of these universes was called the Pleroma, and it was divided into ten subdimensions that would be incomprehensible even to the most prodigious minds of today.
- The Pleroma acquired consciousness, becoming a living entity. It took eons to develop its full knowledge, and when it attained sufficient intelligence, it called itself The One or The Monad, being both the first created being and the creator of all that would come after.
- This entity was Ometeotl, the combination of Ometecuhtli and Omecihuatl. Ometeotl was good and evil, chaos and order, male and female all at the same time.
- Being male and female, it was able to have children. It had four, which came to represent the four directions of north, south, east and west. The gods were Huizilopochtli (south), Quetzalcoatl(east), Tezcatlipoca (west), and Xipe Totec (north).
- The gods created all the 13 heavens and the nine underworlds (Mictlán)
- Upon contemplating this first being, Oneteotl felt the impulse to create others. Thus were born the Aeons, entities generated from his own attributes:
- Ennoea (Thought), Charis (Grace), Sige (Silence), Nous (Mind), Zoe (Life)… and many others that would be revealed later.
- One of the most important aeons was Sophia (Wisdom), the last quality that the Monad achieved by shedding evil.
- But Sophia, driven by her insatiable curiosity, desired to know what existed beyond the confines of the Pleroma. Thus she descended into Bythos, where she came into contact with something she should not have seen. From that encounter, Yaldabaoth, the Deceiver, was born.
- To contain this aberration, Horos (the Limit) stood between Sophia and Yaldabaoth, expelling the latter and imprisoning him in a prison called Keroma.
- Within that prison, Yaldabaoth gave rise to the universe: he laid an egg, and from it were born Chaos and Caligo, primordial entities that, in turn, created the Second Heaven.
- Furthermore, this Chaos was in truth the first of many avatars that the Primal Chaos would have.
- Chaos was born approximately 13.8 billion years ago, and its eruption triggered the first Big Bang, giving rise to the physical universe as we know it.
- Though this Big Bang was not the one that created the current world. Before our universe began there were others, at least 4 are known, all 4 of these universes were as diverse and advanced as the current one, but all eventually fell due to great cataclysms
- To complete this first world, the great source of energy had to be created - a sun. But a sun is so powerful, it can't just be created. It can only come into being through the sacrifice of a god. The god chosen was Tezcatlipoca.
- Tezcatlipoca only managed to become half a sun, however, making this first creation incomplete. During the first age, the gods created giants from ashes,
- The first of these, and likewise the first truly sapient being was The Sapient, the only one of his kind. He was created as a prototype for future sapient beings in the cosmos, which made his long existence a most solitary one. This existence spanned millions of years, and while he was uncertain whether he was immortal, he showed little to no signs of aging. He possessed a mind beyond the comprehension of any other being, and over the millennia, he single-handedly mastered science, engineering, and philosophy, meditating, much as the Monad had acquired its knowledge long before.
- His intellect reached such a point that he built, with his own hands, machines of almost incomprehensible sophistication. With these creations, he delved into the vast immensity of the cosmos, searching for answers, not knowing if he was alone in the universe.
- After countless ages of solitude, he finally discovered another intelligent species: the Modems. Fascinated, he immersed himself in their culture and, with the knowledge accumulated over millennia, helped them thrive. He guided them, educated them, and watched as their civilization flourished. But his new companions eventually fell victim to an interplanetary conflict, ignited by a warlike race from a nearby system: war, devastation, and decline followed. It was then that he came to a harsh realization: all advanced societies inevitably drift toward conflict and self-destruction.
- The Wise One single-handedly eradicated the invading race, the Kull, to avenge his fallen comrades, and was left alone again.
- From that moment on, he made a decision. He would dedicate his immortality to finding every sapient species in the universe and uniting them under a single government. Only then could he prevent them from annihilating each other. For millennia, his empire expanded, uniting countless civilizations under a vast intergalactic republic. However, true stability remained elusive: despite his efforts, conflicts and internal wars continued to arise.
- Thus, the Wise One conceived his most ambitious plan. If unity could not be achieved through reason, then it would be forged through fear. He would become the common enemy of all species: a tyrant, a conqueror, a latent threat that all would seek to overthrow. Only by facing an overwhelming threat could the peoples of the universe finally find true unity.
- And so, transforming his own image into the shadow that stalked the stars, the Wise One set his greatest plan in motion: to become the reason the universe would hold together.
- The Wise One became known as The King of the Cosmos, leading one of the most powerful factions with the most extensive dominion in the entire universe.
- The Sapient succeeded in its first conquest of the universe, causing a fight to began between Quetzalcoatl and Tezcatlipoca. In the end, the cosmos were destroyed, and in anger Tezcatlipoca destroyed the giants in turn.
- Afterwards, left with only a broken universe, Quetzalcoatl took over for his brother as the sun. A new sapient was born, with new races evolving in their blossoming universes. But the people became corrupt, and perhaps out of revenge Tezcatlipoca turned them into primitive monkey-like creatures. Furious, Quetzalcoatl summoned a hurricane so massive that it tore the fabrics of reality apart.
- The cycle would begin again, and a new universe was formed. Tlaloc was one of the early creations of the gods, the god of rain and water. He became the next sun. But his personal problems became his downfall. Once again, Tezcatlipoca was the instigator. Tezcatlipoca stole Tlaloc's wife (Xochiquetzal), and Tlaloc was grief-stricken. He shone as the sun but refused to create rain, or any other relief from his blinding light, in spite of the pleas of the people. Drought swept the cosmos, and finally in a rage Tlaloc made it rain fire, burning away this version of the world.
- The third universe was gone, but This time the gods selected Tlaloc's sister to be the sun. She was Calchiuhtlicue. But filled with jealousy, Tezcatlipoca and Quetzalcoatl struck down the sun. As she fell, the sky opened up and water drowned the cosmos, sweeping it away in a furious cosmic whirlpool and All things were destroyed again.
- In the darkness between the suns, Quetzalcoatl descended into the underworld to bring up the bones of the dead. They would be used to bring to life the people who are now here.
- Once Quetzalcoatl brought back life to the universe. The gods gathered to bring another sun into being.
- The proud god Tecuciztecatl offered himself, but the other gods preferred the humble Nanahuatzin. A great fire was built, but Tecuciztecatl was too afraid at the last minute to jump in. Nanahuatzin did jump. Filled with jealousy, Tecuciztecatl jumped after, and the two ruling forces would balance one another, keeping this current universe alive for the time being.
- Elseehere Azathoth was born as another incarnation of Yaldabaoth: an incredibly powerful being who was bewitched into an indefinite slumber. Should he ever awaken, his power would be such that he could destroy everything and everyone, returning the cosmos to the dominion of the Primal Chaos.
- Around him, a court of lesser gods played blasphemous flutes, keeping him asleep, for if he were to awaken, all creation would dissolve into nothingness.
- From Azathoth's dream emerged other beings, powerful and beyond all human logic. Among them was Yog-Sothoth, the All-in-One and One-in-All, lord of time and space, who knows every corner of the universe and all eras at once. Yog-Sothoth is the key and the door, and only through him can the gods access the material universe.
- Elsewhere other gods and entities from the previous universes roam the heavens and underworlds awaiting a new universe to be created. (Loki, Set, Anansi etc.)

Late Ordovician
450 Million Years Ago
- Beginning of the Ordovician-Silurian mass extinction event. Land plants and phytoplankton are evolving, removing carbon dioxide from the atmosphere and reducing the greenhouse effect. Volcanic activity causes new silicate rocks to develop, further sequestering carbon dioxide. As the world cools, glaciers form on the South Polar continent of Gondwana, removing water from the world ocean. As inland seas recede and sea levels drop worldwide, endemic species of the intertidal zones and continental shelves lose their habitats and become extinct. Interglacial periods cause water to return to the drained areas, then recede once more as the climate cools back down.
Silurian
440 Million Years Ago
- End of the Ordovician-Silurian mass extinction event. Climate change has drastically disrupted the ocean currents and water chemistry over time, causing widespread anoxia (absence of oxygen) and euxinia (toxic sulfide production). Metal toxicity is another impact, as toxic metals on the seafloor dissolve into the water when oxygen is depleted. These conditions are spurred on by harmful cyanobacteria blooms which result from the altered environment. By now, two pulses of the mass extinction have occurred. Wider taxonomic groups are largely unscathed, but at the species level, extinction rates reach 85%. Global ecology starts to return to equilibrium as evolution begins restoring species diversity.
Late Devonian
372 Million Years Ago
- Beginning of the Late Devonian mass extinction event. The first in this prolonged series of eight to ten extinction events in sequence is the Kellwasser event, marked by anoxic ocean waters, rapid changes in sea level caused by glaciation, and drastic increase in marine carbon burial. The cause of this sudden climate change may have been bolide impacts. Impact craters, such as the Woodleigh and Alamo craters as well as the Siljan Ring, are thought to have occurred during the Late Devonian extinctions. Land plants also undergo a massive surge forward in evolution during this time, turning the continents green with Earth’s first plant forests. For the first time, the planet’s upper bedrock is broken up into topsoil. Ground, water, and air chemistry change on a wide scale; atmospheric carbon dioxide is reduced. This contributes to global cooling. Nutrient runoff into the sea leads to algal blooms and anoxic conditions. Massive volcanic eruptions and tectonic shifts also contribute to the climate change.
358.9 Million Years Ago
- End of the Late Devonian mass extinction event. The final stage of this sequence of extinctions is the Hangenberg event, caused by plummeting sea levels due to glaciation in the Southern Hemisphere. Atmospheric cooling which led to this glacier formation was the result of ozone depletion, possibly caused by cosmic rays from a supernova dangerously close to the Solar System. Ultraviolet radiation scalds the planet’s surface, causing genetic damage to life forms in its path for thousands of years. Over the entire Late Devonian mass extinction, a period of around twenty million years, about 70% of all species die out. Among vertebrate animals, 97% of species including all of the placoderm fish and most of the lobe-finned fish die. The only vertebrate survivors are bony fish less than 10 centimeters and sharks less than one meter in length. It will be around forty million years before larger vertebrates evolve again.
Permian
260 Million Years Ago
- Lemuria is separated from the mainland, and acts as a sanctuary for creatures facing extinction.
252 Million Years Ago
- Permian-Triassic mass extinction event, also called the “Great Dying.” It is the result of the Siberian Traps flood basalt, a two-million-year-long volcanic eruption occurring in northern Pangaea which released around one million cubic miles (four million cubic kilometers) of basaltic lava. This event was preceded by another flood basalt eruption a few million years earlier, the Emeishan Traps, which caused a slightly smaller mass extinction. Flood basalt eruptions are the largest volcanic eruptions in terms of lava volume. Oil and coal deposits are ignited, releasing massive amounts of hydrocarbons into the atmosphere. The heat of the eruption causes methane clathrates to release from the seafloor. The Siberian Traps heat up evaporite and clastic rocks beneath the ground, releasing toxic gases. Volcanic particulate blocks out the sun, killing plant life and oceanic algae; then these aerosols are washed down to the ground in acid rain. When the aerosols are washed out, the excess carbon dioxide remains. Huge deposits of nickel are brought to the surface by volcanoes, and since nickel is rare but important to metabolic pathways involved in methane production, it has an effect on evolution: the methanogenic archaea Methanosarcina evolves the ability to convert acetate into methane via gene transfer. It grows exponentially, spreading all over the seafloor and consuming organic carbon deposits to release vast amounts of methane. Between the volcanic activity and microorganisms, Earth enters into a state of global warming that reaches lethal levels. Equatorial ocean surface temperatures reach 104°F (40°C). Oxygen levels in the deep ocean plummet to record lows; only microorganisms that can thrive in its absence remain in the anoxic regions. They produce toxic hydrogen sulfide, poisoning the seas. 90% of all species die out. In the ocean, most invertebrates lose more than half their species diversity; the last of the trilobites go extinct. On land, many orders of insects become extinct or at least heavily reduced, and two-thirds of the vertebrates die out. Plants suffer as well, with the world’s forests disappearing. When the eruption finally ends, it takes tens of millions of years for species diversity to recover. Early synapsids, the ancestors of mammals, lose ecological dominance during the extinction and archosaurs begin to ascend in their place.

201.3 Million Years Ago
- Triassic-Jurassic mass extinction event. This is caused by the largest (by surface area) volcanic eruption in Earth’s geological record, the Central Atlantic Magmatic Province eruption, which covers four and a half million square miles (eleven million square kilometers) with lava. Huge amounts of carbon dioxide are pumped into the atmosphere, leading to global warming and ocean acidification. These conditions persist for somewhat less than 10,000 years. Marine reptile diversity, especially for ichthyosaurs, suffers; many corals also die out. On land, the dinosaurs and pterosaurs get through the event relatively unscathed, though a large number of plants go extinct. Mammals remain relatively successful through the extinction. Other terrestrial vertebrates severely decline in diversity or become extinct, including many primitive reptiles and amphibians. As the eruption subsides over hundreds of thousands of years, rates of evolution increase again as animals fill vacant niches. Dinosaurs and pterosaurs, and to a lesser degree the mammals, rise to ecological prominence.

- Theropod scientists receive a transmission from space, warning them of a giant asteroid headed on a collision course to Earth
- This sparks them to begin rapidly developing a space program. To try and save their planet, or at the very least their people.
66 Million Years Ago
- A carbonaceous chondrite asteroid between 7 and 50 miles (11 and 81 kilometers) in diameter strikes the southern Caribbean fast enough to simply compress the atmosphere out of the way at supersonic speed. The extreme heat evaporates the ocean before the asteroid has a chance to touch water; it is still fully intact upon impact. Animals in the impact zone are vaporized instantly. It generates an explosion measuring between 1.3 and 58 yottajoules. Seawater is displaced, creating megatsunamis which start at 330 feet (over 100 meters) tall and reach 2.9 miles (4.6 kilometers) tall in deep enough water. Ejecta blasted into the air by the impact, which creates a hole 19 miles deep and 62 miles wide (30 kilometers deep and 100 kilometers wide), rain back down to Earth fast enough to become incandescent and roast every living thing exposed to them. This rain of molten rock lasts for hours. Seismic disturbances equivalent to Magnitude 9-12 earthquakes occur worldwide, contributing to volcanism such as the ongoing Deccan Traps flood basalt eruption in India. The dust cloud generated by the impact blocks out sunlight for at least a year, killing off plant life and leading to the collapse of food webs. In the ensuing impact winter, which lasts for a decade or so, around 75% of all species die out. All ammonites, pterosaurs, plesiosaurs, and mosasaurs become extinct. Among the dinosaurs, only certain small birds, ankylotalpids and skull island/lost world/Dante’s Pit species survive. After the winter ends, primary production levels increase due to the excess carbon dioxide, and the birds, Ankylotalpids and mammals rapidly diversify into new forms. Plants also diversify, leading to the development of new biomes.
- created 8 cryogenic stasis chambers which work well enough, but unfortunately, the Meteorite hit earlier than forecasted. And the space program is still being prepared.
- The rock hits Chixulub and sends a shockwave across the planet. Out of desperation, the seven of them take cover in the Cryo-pods which are designed to be nearly indestructible.
- They are only barely able to make it inside before the shockwave tears them apart, but before doing so it drenches them in mutagenic “Primordial Ooze”, that the meteor blasted out of the Earth’s Mantle when it hit the planet.
- Though before it can do anything to affect them the cryogenic components activate and they are frozen.

- Plesiadapis and Carpolestes simpsoni go extinct, giving rise to more advanced primates.
- Primates diverge into suborders Strepsirrhini (wet-nosed primates) and Haplorrhini (dry-nosed primates). Brain expands and cerebrum divides into 4 pairs of lobes. The postorbital bar evolves to separate the orbit from the temporal fossae as sight regains its position as the primary sense; eyes became forward-facing. Strepsirrhini contain most prosimians; modern examples include lemurs and lorises. The haplorrhines include the two living groups: prosimian tarsiers, and simian monkeys, including apes. The Haplorrhini metabolism lost the ability to produce vitamin C, forcing all descendants to include vitamin C-containing fruit in their diet. Early primates only had claws in their second digits; the rest were turned into nails.
38 Million Years Ago
- Aegyptopithecus zeuxis evolves in what would become modern-day Egypt.
35 Million Years Ago
- Simians split into infraorders Platyrrhini and Catarrhini. They fully transitioned to diurnality and lacked any claw and tapetum lucidum (which evolved many times in various vertebrates). They possibly evolved at least some of the paranasal sinuses, and transitioned from estrous cycle to menstrual cycle. The number of mammaries is now reduced to only one thoracic pair. Platyrrhines, New World monkeys, have prehensile tails and males are color blind. The individuals whose descendants would become Platyrrhini are conjectured to have migrated to South America either on a raft of vegetation or via a land bridge (the hypothesis now favored[27]). Catarrhines mostly stayed in Africa as the two continents drifted apart. Possible early ancestors of catarrhines include Aegyptopithecus and Saadanius.

20,000 BCE
- Progenitor civilization began to form on the island of Moshkho in the North Pacific
- Denisovan civilization began to form on the Islands of Atlantis and Mu in the Desian Islands.
12,000 BCE
- Progenitors began to develop Genetic Engineering technologies, they used this to create hardier crops and livestock that could produce more food.
Holocene
11,000 BCE
- Some Progenitors begin using Genetic Engineering technologies on their domesticated Kobolds, giving rise to new breeds with striking colors, patterns, horn and spike arrangements, and a variety of other designer traits.
10,000 BCE
- Progenitor and Denisovan societies soon developed technologies and came across one another. While initially frightened and distrustful of each other the two species come to an uneasy alliance, trading technologies, and information. The Denisovans are particularly enchanted by the Progenitor’s Genetic Engineering tech and are delighted when they are taught how to make more productive crops.
9,500 BCE
- Progenitor scientists use fossilized remains of creatures to mix with the Kobold genome. Creating the first Saurians and Dragonborne, these species become far more popular than the Kobold, driving them to extinction.
- The Saurians and Dragonborne soon become more than simple pets when their brains are enlarged, making them fully sapient and aware. This allows them to serve the roles of servants and slaves, in addition to being pets.
9,250 BCE
- Progenitors begin to create the Fae from the Kobold genome, it soon becomes a challenge for engineers to create the most twisted and bizarre organisms possible to sell. Soon Fae Gardens become a symbol of status among the Progenitor elite and parts of Moshkho become covered in vast forests of Fae.
- This along with the creation of the Saurians and Dragonborne caused considerable strain of the relationships between the Denisovans and Progenitors. Although some of the cuter Fae do become popular pets in Atlantis
9,200 BCE
- Some Progenitor artists begin creating Fae for another purpose besides mere beauty; combat. A new sport quickly takes hold of the Progenitor nation, gladiatorial battles between Fae and other modified or unmodified creatures. Soon thousands of new Fae breeds come into existence, along with a few other modified creatures like the Hummer-Beast.
- The Progenitors also modify their DNA to create a race of intelligent creatures known as the Necrorex. Essentially just hulking versions of the Progenitor species, the Necrorexes possess incredible brute strength, allowing them to go toe-to-toe with the bizarre fighting Fae.
8,500 BCE
- The Progenitors discover the primordial ooze and modify it allowing certain Fae, Dragonborne, and Saurian to switch between one or in later generations, multiple larger, more ferocious forms.
8,430 BCE
- Progenitor scientists begin creating modified human species, for a multitude of reasons; mostly display and combat. This upsets the Denisovans greatly as all human species were supposed to be protected by law under their agreement with the Progenitors
- They attempt to diplomatically solve the problem but are met with refusal, threats, and outrage by the Progenitors. This sparks the beginning of the Great Progenitor-Hominid War occurs,

Cryocene
5 million years from the present
- The Cryocene (~2.5-13.2 myf) is a posthistoric age following the Holocene/Anthropocene. It is marked by a series of Ice Ages even more drastic than those of the Pleistocene. Glaciers cover the North Pole of the planet to the 48th parallel, forming vast ice sheets and tundras. Additional glaciers have formed across antarctica, the Andes Mountains, Southern Africa, South Australia, Southern Aotearoa and the Tibetan Plateau. Due to the massive amounts of ice sea levels have dropped about 140 meters below the 21st Century, allowing natural landbridges to form and connect the continents as well as various islands, examples such as the Bering Land Bridge and Indonesia and Florida have allowed an interchange of various animals which were formerly isolated to their 21st century ranges. For the islands that managed to remain isolated, the drops in sea level have given their inhabitants more land area to roam and as a result attain even greater sizes than those seen in the Holocene. For lands nearer to the equator, the change in climate has caused areas used to receiving lots of rainfall to receive less and drier areas to receive more causing both rainforests and deserts alike to shrink in favor of grasslands, scrublands and marshes.
