Primordial History

7.78 Billion BC: The Quantis System forms in a now long-dead Seed Cluster near the edge of the galactic ring.

7.7 Billion BC: The Lekna System, including Earen, forms

5.4 Billion BC: The Holias System forms

2.5 Billion BC: The Vernarca Nebula's Seed Cluster coalesces in the outer ring of the Silky Way.

1.9 Billion BC: Many stars form in the Vernarca Nebula in a secondary burst of star formation.

Ancient History

~1,150,000 BC: The Denetha, a primitive branch of the genus Alor on Teralla, dies out due to climate change before the Kesstra could encounter them.

~1,075,000 BC: The ancient Kesstra begin to develop seafaring technology and others, spreading across their homeworld of Teralla.

~1,066,000 BC: Several disparate Kesstra groups develop agriculture at similar times.

The Vasser, a close relative species of the Kesstra, begin to interbreed with them. After several centuries, the distinction between the two ceases to be relevant.

The first cities appear on Teralla, in the far east of Keldun and the eastern end of Mesa Obsidian.

The marshland cities of the Irkre Delta on Teralla unite to become the planet's first large-scale civilization.

1,054,250: The first Kesstra orbital launch takes place, beginning their spread beyond Teralla.

1,054,150: By this time, Kesstra colonies exist on Esera and Okoro. Shortly afterwards, a project is considered to terraform the desertified moons of Shirus and Doresyl.

1,054,050: The Kesstra and Silik begin a decades-long series of conflicts, initially fighting over mining rights on Moa and Praxis.

1,053,950: The Silik-Kesstra conflicts come to an abrupt end as the Edrons begin attacking outlying colonies in the Verda System.

1,053,900: After the Ovion Cabal on Esera betrays military secrets to the Edrons in exchange for false promises of positions of power, the combined defense fleets are quickly defeated and the Edrons lay waste to every hint of civilization in the area. After this point, the Silik are extinct.

The last survivors of the Kesstra escape on a small fleet guided by the AWS Ziris and Karaman, playing a deadly game of hide-and-seek for the next decades.

1,053,830: The Obilehem Intelligence begins the collapse of the Edrons through a large-scale cyber attack, freeing the last of the Kesstra refugees to settle on the distant world of Riojan. Their population has so few survivors that retaining their advanced technology is impossible. Most civilian ships are either permanently grounded or sent into the atmosphere of Thalik. The Ziris and Karaman are left in a high orbit around Amador, beginning to fade into legend.

790,844 BC: The Edron Genocide refugees within the Thasarus System briefly reawaken from stasis, establishing the government of the First Federation in preparation for an age when the galaxy would be safe.

Pre-Federation Era (BC)

8,971 BC: 23.5: The Thelsan Assembly is established between the Bronze and Gilded Thelsa, with its capital set at Kyx. The Thol Court is formed concurrently, to ensure that the Assembly remains as the Founders intended.

1,785 BC: The Tarasze exodus fleet enters the Ervo Sector through a transient spatial rift from the remote Devore Cluster, severely damaging many of the ships. The fleet spends the next years searching for a habitable planet before entering the Vernarca Nebula.

1,781 BC: The Tarasze exodus fleet makes landfall on Tarash at an unknown date, losing much of their technology and records. A select few ships continue onward in search of greener pastures, which would go on to create the Debrune and Talri societies among others.

955 BC: 24.8: The Tarasze on Tarash launch their first orbital spacecrat since their landfall over 800 years earlier.

943 BC: 16.7: The Tarasze conduct their first landing on the asteroid moon Ensei.

935 BC: 13.1: Talis Colony is established on Ensei, the Tarash-based Tarasze's first offworld colony.

920-890 BC: Colonies are established by the Tarasze at Pirek, the moons of Amarius, and the outer ice world of Naranyx.

892 BC

12.8: The terraforming of Tarash is announced, beginning the centuries-long process of transforming the planet from barely habitable to a veritable paradise suiting the new homeworld of the Tarasze.

781 BC: 7.8: Keuremaske the Peacemaker codifies the Great Law of Peace at Tekarani, beginning the process of bringing the squabbling Krask tribes across the corward end of the nebula together into the Krask Confederation.

609-604 BC: The first Urann colonies are established beyond Vistari.

439 BC: 30.6: The Falacian Dominion is declared as Emperor Ragor of House Kem'tas allis with House Kor'ann and Hayusa to reunify the Falaci in the vicinity of Darossa.

436 BC: 29.3: Emperor Ragor attacks House Pelasa in the Atrate System.

3.4: The Battle of Atrate ends in a draw, with much of the fleets of both sides being destroyed by each other or environmental factors.

17.4: The feud between house Kem'tas and Pelasa ends with a ceremonial duel between Ragor and House Pelasa's leader, Saikan. The efra also ended in a draw, but Saikan was duly impressed by Ragor's fighting skills, called off the feud and joined the alliance.

9.5: House Oda folds almost immediately when the Falacian Dominion renews its attack on the Vothan System, and the Dominion's capital is returned to Darossa after decades of historical obscurity.

417 BC: 5.26: The last fully independent Falaci house is folded into the Falacian Dominion by the trickery of General Kraios.

415 BC: 2.11: The Falacian fleets led by Kraios enter the Pahvo nation of Ijayal near the Salis System.

404 BC: 15.4: The last of the Pahvo resistance falls and Kraios' fleets enter the Tirea System.

9.5: The fleets begin to bombard the broodhouses of the largest of the Pahvo nations at Kraios' orders, as "punishment" for their resistance.

403 BC: 15.1: General Kraios triumphantly returns to Darossa with her spoils of war, and is immediately arrested on the orders of Emperor Ragor.

21.1: Kraios' relatives are rounded up and executed as she watches, before she is locked in a waking stasis.

359 BC: 29.5: The Pahvo are declared as the Neifalaci after Emperor Goral declared them to have attained true civilization as part of the Falacian Dominion.

341 BC: 30.2: The Falacian Dominion comes into contact with the Krask Confederation for the first time.

328 BC: 11.4: The Falacian-Krask War begins as the early Falacian Dominion begins to invade outlying territories of the Krask Conederation.

23.10: Emperor Goral unexpectedly dies, ending the reign of House Kem'tas beginning the first succession crisis of the Falacian Dominion.

15.12: Emperor Mizar of House Hayusa sits upon the Ruby Throne, and continues the Krask campaign began by his predecessor.

326 BC: 16.11: The Falacian war fleets enter the Kelpur-Meranath System after years of fighting wearing down the inexperienced and pacifistic Krask.

7.12-13.12: Tekarani's surface is bombarded, destroying much of the Krask species and scattering the survivors to the winds as second-class Dominion citizens.

257 BC: 28.9: The Farpoint Transmission is sent from Varbudos at high power towards systems though to be inhabited, including the Thasarus, Verda, and other neighboring systems.

255 BC: 14.3: The ICV V'Straki is detected crossing the orbit of Taozora by the base camp on Anamol, marking the Alorath's first obvious evidence of contemporary alien life.

4.11: Alorath starships amass at Liratan as the V’Straki approaches Glau. V'Straki is ordered to enter a parking orbit over Velar or be destroyed as tensions mount.

12.11: Already tense negotiations are interrupted by an attempted nuclear strike on the V'Straki, narrowly averted by the actions of a nearby science ship. While the hardliners responsible almost ruined everything, the courage of the science ship crew helped to prove that peace was possible.

254 BC: 16.1: The passengers of the V'Straki begin to settle on their original target of Liratan alongside small numbers of Alorath, beginning a joint colonization of the Glau lunar system.

247 BC: 30.11: The Farpoint Transmission is received by an all-sky survey telescope high above the plane of the Verda System.

21.12: Scientists on Shirus, Rellis, and Doresyl work together to translate the highly complex message with the assistance provided in it, and begin to write a response to be sent back towards Quantis.

236 BC: 2.2: The Alorath response to the Farpoint Transmission reaches Varbudos, bringing the first evidence of contemporary alien life to the Ravoryl and Bahnag species.

229 BC: 24.2: Servant Ezana comes to power after a succession crisis, sounding the beginning of the Ilmuqah Sarichate.

4.5: The capital of Ilmuqah established in the Ilidaria System.

215 BC: 19.5: The Amrak Sarichate surrenders to the armies of Servant Ezana. Vistari is declared the new capital of the Ilmuqah Sarichate.

189 BC: 9.4: The Warp Drive is invented by a team of scientists led by Iuli Nizal at Esera, quickly spreading to neighboring systems.

188 BC: 12.11: Na'uni Al Arelik invents the Warp Drive once again in the northern continent of Campura by reverse-engineering from a derelict Edron warship in the Limit Cloud, bringing the comparatively remote Kuna'uashi species into contact with its neighbors.

186 BC: 17.9: Iratha Erlebar independently invents the Warp Drive in her lab on Verto. Selling the design to a starship firm, she retires as the spread of warp drive across Lrenn space results in contact with the Alorath, Bahnag, and Ravoryl.

177 BC: 11.4: The Tarchannen Accords are signed, unifying the Clans of Azan at least in name.

164 BC: 29.11: Kethri's War begins after Enolian religious extremist Kethri takes credit for attacks near Bakino.

131 BC: 12.5: With the signing of the Cerek Pact in a meeting at the dwarf planet Cerek, the Verdan Federation is formed as a tight-knit alliance of Alorath states in and around the Verda System and Katheria System.

17.8: The colonies of the Eanai species in and around the Lekna System are unified into United Earen.

122 BC: 23.1: The Erdathian Domain is declared as the militant fief at Lirtso begins to conquer the neighboring Lrenn colonies in the Holias System.

119 BC: 28.3: The comparatively remote United Earen makes diplomatic contact with the Verdan Federation, forming a long-standing trade relationship.

16.10: The Erdathian Domain declares war on the Delnar Empire in an attempt to claim resource-rich planets within the Cyga System near the border.

24.12: Fearing blockage of its trade lines to Campura, the Verdan Federation sends a diplomatic envoy to the warring nations in an effort to quell the conflict. The warp drives of the time will take several months to cross the 11-light-year distance.

118 BC: 13.8: The Verdan Federation's diplomatic envoys arrive in the system alongside a slower colony ship sent out years prior.

29.10: The Delnar-Erdath War comes to an end with the Treaty of Somar, splitting the Cyga System between the Erdathian Domain, Delnar Empire, and Verdan Federation spheres.

112-105 BC: Minor skirmishes take place between the farthest colony ships of the Q'Mau and Ravoryl species.

89 BC: 8.4: Durona's surface is bombarded by the Tyran Empire, killing the entire population. Kethan-Enol surrenders to the Empire and ceases to exist as an independent entity.

21.4: Servant Shewa of the Ilmuqah Sarichate is presented with a non-agression pact by an emissary of the Tyran Senate.

82 BC: 30.2: The Falacian Dominion declares war on United Earen, bringing about the bloody and protracted Siege of Earen.

4.3-18.4: Aglarond and the rest of the Sumna System are quickly evacuated to Earen and its surrounds, alongside other outlying colonies.

65 BC: 8.5: The Tyran Empire develops a disabling virus and begins spreading it through the static defense networks of the Ilmuqah Sarichate.

62 BC: 13.7: Servant Shewa dies on Vistari.

17.7: The Tyran Empire's military forces enter the Ilmuqah Sarichate at Kerillis. With much of the static defense forces completely disabled, the war is much easier than it should be.

1.8: Sidama Harar is installed as Servant. Her reign is the shortest of any Servant of all the Sarichates.

25.8: Servant Harar demands partial direct control over the Ilmuqah military over the objections of her advisors and the admiralty.

61 BC: 9.1: Servant Harar is reduced to a figurehead by the Ilmuqah admiralty, and the return of experienced control results in a temporary halt of the Tyran lines just outside the Buruli-Gatega System. The war continues for another three years.

60 BC: 19.6: The newly elected government of the much-diminished United Earen surrenders to the Falacian Dominion in an attempt to save as many as possible from the fate of the Krask 300 years earlier.

58 BC: 22.12: The Ilmuqah Sarichate formally surrenders to the Tyran Empire, ending centuries of Urann independence.

57 BC: 6.3: The Talarian Union is created from the merger of the Alliance of Ishasi, Arafel Congressional Republic, and the disunited colonies at Chachin. Autarch Sessinera is elected as its first ruler.

3.10: The Talarian Civil War begins after a failed coup attempt to bring about the so-called Talarian Empire, distracting Sessinera from invading the Ravoryl territories.

53 BC: 23.1: The Talarian Civil War comes to an end as the fascists are defeated at the Battle of Arafel. Splinter groups continue fighting, having a habit of political assassinations in the newfound absence of their large armies.

18.9: Autarch Sessinera dies in childbirth, succeeded by a chain of four short-lived Autarchs who were all assassinated by leftover fascists from the civil war.

49 BC: 14.3: The independence of the Saladi species at Cela comes to a violent end as the planet's surface is destroyed in nuclear hellfire.

43 BC: 17.4: General Shahso takes the previously non-existent throne in the Tyran Empire after wiping out most peace-favoring politicians with a neutron bomb planted in the imperial palace, beginning a decades-long reign of terror.

18.8: After stealing the Losekran Morphogenic Virus from a lab on Teralla, Shahso orders its deployment over Canamar and other Enolian colony worlds. This act almost renders the species extinct, save a few refugees rescued beforehand through the Varbudian Starry Railroad operation.

38 BC: 2.8: The disunited Kaegan tribes are unified under the banner of the Kaegan Sovereignty at Shilak.

35 BC: 5.5: Previously independent and unrelated rebel groups across the Erdathian Domain band together, beginning the Blue Strike Revolution

33 BC: 18.8: The Erdathian Domain is finally toppled by the Blue Stripe Revolution.

23.8: The Erdathian Federal Republic is officially established, with the first elections installing Prime Minister Lrisi Inthal.

14 BC: 13.4: The VES Danakil is launched from Teralla under captain Sa Sro Reyma on a mission of exploration and peace.

19.6: Danakil uncovers evidence of a Delnar Empire listening post in the LLASS 1048 System, publically revealing this to the nations and avoiding an otherwise inevitable war.

13 BC: 21.4: Danakil mediates a territorial dispute between the Delnar Empire and EFR over the terraformed planetoid Eshahn in the Walak System after skirmishes ignite over the region. Eshahn is ceded to the EFR.

10 BC: 12.9: Selisira, Autarch of the Talarian Union, as well as the Senistra Council, are overthrown by the military, resulting in the establishment of the Arrowhead Order.

9 BC: 15.1: The Enolian Freedom Coalition gets its start at Canamar through distribution of information on the vanished Kethan-Enol culture destroyed by Shahso 29 years earlier.

24.4: Rebel cells at Kaidras make themselves known through minor sabotage, at first simply messing with navigation systems aboard warships.

7 BC: 20.5: Armed insurgency begins within the outer reaches of the Tyran Empire, with coordinated attacks on military installations across its space. Some consider this to be the beginning of the Tyran War, although the lack of organization convinces most otherwise.

13.8: Danakil unwittingly enters the space of the First Federation, narrowly avoiding destruction at their hands with a very convincing speech. While this does prove to them that the surrounding nations are not necessarily threats, the First Federation remains reclusive for decades.

6 BC: 21.6: Marakat declares independence, the earliest accepted start date for the Tyran War.

15.7: The Federate of Varaltin-Zartha declares independence as well, locking down shipping lanes passing through its small territory. Distance from Marakat precludes cooperation between the two.

5 BC: 30.5: The Raga Massacre takes place to punish local rebel groups into submission, killing millions aboard dozens of habitats. Instead, this atrocity galvanizes the populace into fighting even harder and more effectively.

4 BC: 7.2: The Enolian Coalition declares independence, working together with Marakat and the burgeoning rebel cells in what would become Voyorras to strike at the Tyran Empire. By this point, historians agree that it's the Tyran War instead of any precursor conflicts.

2 BC: 14.4: Teralla Prime, a xenophobic organization, stages a bombing on Admor's atmospheric extraction facilities.

20.4: Vellesil, a Verna-supremacist terrorist group, destroys power-collection infrastructure in the Delnar System. Kessler syndrome is averted through a civilian movement to clean up the affected area of space before it spreads.

26.4: The embassies to the Verdan Federation of the Delnar Empire and Quantan Interstellar Alliance are severely damaged by a Teralla Prime terrorist attack.

19.5: Jol Rator, a similar group, tries to detonate a nuclear warhead over the city of Sinik on Gasbol. Their plan is foiled by a defector, but no new information is uncovered.

27.5: Ta'ishar Kuna'uashi announces its intent to purge the Starrial System of "corrupting alien influence" after destroying the Eli'in Radio Array through sabotage.

8.6: The Nel Erdath Society stages an armed attack on cities across Verto, fended off by the Erdathian Federal Republic's military as well as civilian arms.

29.8: The VES Danakil arrives at Admor, uncovering a connection between the spate of terrorist attacks. The allegedly xenophobic groups based at Teralla, Campura, Varbudos, Verri, and Erdath were in fact working together.

1 BC: 27.2: The Federation Acts of Union are ratified, officially bringing the Vernarcan Federation into existence.

7-9.5: The First Battle of Kerillis takes place as Marakat vessels reclaimed from Tyran shipyards in its new territory attempt to drive invading forces towards the inner system. An artificially induced Coronal Mass Ejection destroys most of the Tyran fleet in the system at the conclusion of the battle.

10.5: Shahso orders the Tyran Ninth Fleet to travel to Vistari and initiate an orbital bombardment. The fleet enters Marakat space shortly thereafter and begins a bloody fight to reach the Deferna System.

9.10: The Ninth Fleet reaches the Deferna System, only a few AU from Vistari itself. The Vistarin population sends distress calls in every direction.

18.11: Voyorras declares independence as the rebel groups in its territory unify. Pekua is declared as its capital, as the opinion of the planet's populace turns toward support of the rebellion.

21.11: The combined coalition fleet command of the Vernarcan Federation and Talarian Union war fleets are called to the aid of the rebels in Marakat, beginning the Battle of Vistari and averting that planet's orbital bombardment.

23.11: The Battle of Vistari ends in a rout, as the hulking Tyran starships were designed for genocide rather than war with an equal opponent. The tale spreads across the collapsing empire, showing the rebels that they could indeed win.

13.12: Ongoing investigation into the terrorist attacks the previous year discovers that the Tyran Empire was in fact funding them in an attempt to prevent the formation of the Federation by turning the nations against each other.

Modern Era (AC)

1 AC: 1.1: After months of deliberation, the Federation Standard Calendar is adopted by the Vernarcan Federation and its allies.

4.1: Operation Shadow Hand begins, with holographically disguised Tyran warships firing on miscellaneous civilians in false flag attacks.

15.1: After consistent and strident denials by all nations involved, a multinational committee is formed to investigate the otherwise inexplicable attacks.

18.4: Chahsan, a leader of the Tyran Empire's spy ring, is captured on Varbudos and interrogated.

23.4: Chahsan defects to the Vernarcan Federation, exposing the Tyran Empire's plans in the region to the Federation and its allies.

15.6: The Treaty of Mutual Assistance and Support, better known as the Yazera Pact, is formed at Sonagar Anchorage orbiting Yazera.

2 AC: 27.6: The Enolian Coalition signs the Yazera Pact.

18.9: Marakat signs the Yazera Pact.

7.10: The Battle of Kerillis takes place, ending in a rebel victory as the Tyran military base is reclaimed for Marakat

29.11: The people of the Federate of Varaltin-Zartha successfully drive the Tyran Empire out of their system after the destruction of the flagship Makar over Ison.

3 AC: 11.5: The Tyran Empire's war fleets begin a pincer attack on the Varaltin-Zartha System in an attempt to retake the highly valuable planet Kaidras.

15.5: One arm of the pincer attack illegally crosses the border of the Falacian Dominion, giving the government an excuse to acquiesce to the people's demands and enter the war. With their indirect help, the Federate of Varaltin-Zartha would remain unsavaged by Tyran attacks for the remainder of the Tyran War.

4 AC: 29.9: The Arrowhead Order is overthrown by a successful assassination of so-called Autarch Rilinaia, bringing democracy back to the Talarian Union. The Senistra Council is also reestablished.

7.10: Autarch Selisira is voted back into power in the first post-dictatorship elections. She promises to use the military government's assets to help in the Tyran rebels' fight for self-determination.

13.11: The Second Battle of Canamar takes place as Tyran forces attempt to retake the Coalition capital. The surprise arrival of Talarian Union starships turns the tide, preventing the Tyran Empire from retaking the planet.

5 AC: 16.2: Marakat retakes control of Kerillis and its surrounding infrastructure with the help of the Yazera Pact.

25.6: The Enolian Coalition takes the valuable Luminous Blue Variable Inielus in the battle of the same name. Talarian, Alorath, Ravoryl, and even Bahnag ships participate alongside the Coalition's recovered war fleet.

27.8: Voyorras takes retakes control of Bakino alongside the Vernarcan Federation and Talarian Union fleets.

7 AC: 17.7: Emperor Rinaal dies on Darossa.

28.7: Rinaal's successor, Genore, declares an Era of Good Feelings, granting non-assimilated subject species like the Eanai and Krask greater rights and self-determination.

9.8: The first bands of Janisa, elite soldiers, enter the fight directly for the Tyran rebels at Bakino. Talarian ships play a key role in this campaign as well.

9 AC: 14.3: Shahso jumps off of his balcony in the Imperial Palace in Lor'Vela, falling nearly a kilometer to his death towards the surface of Tarash.

20.8: The reorganized Tyran Senate signs an armistice recognizing the newly independent states of Marakat, Voyorras, the Federate of Varaltin-Zartha, and the Enolian Coalition; and officially ending the Tyran War.

12 AC: 7.5: The Vuan Assembly becomes the first new nation to join the Vernarcan Federation after its founding.

15.6: The Perim Union petitions for entry into the Federation, but is rejected due to severe societal problems found during the standard investigation.

13 AC: 14.4: The Kelinea Confederacy is estsablished by Terakela refugees in diaspora from Voyorr. The Federation takes it on as a protectorate on request.

17 AC: 11.8: Ansirranna is elected the first male Autarch of the Talarian Union.

17-18 AC: The Talarian Union begins to colonize the Sukothra and Merrilor systems.

25 AC: 25.1: The leading tribes of the Kelinea Confederacy officially join the Vernarcan Federation. They never send represenatives, though.

29 AC: 8.9: The Tyran Senate officially allows Federation transport ships to cross the border and begin evacuating Tarash after almost a decade of misguided pride, beginning Operation Egress.

31 AC: 16.2: Years of degrading democratic norms culminate in the "election" of Hithari Tosoj, ushering in a long era of fascism for Etuernia. The nation retreats into isolationism as a result.

18.4: Karaman Zirstra is elected as Lord President of the Kesstra Ascendancy, who begins the process of Federation membership as his first act in office.

33 AC: 23.2: The Kesstra Ascendancy officially joins the Vernarcan Federation as the third post-founding member state.

41 AC: 7.1: Athos begins fusing iron and goes supernova, destroying the entire system in hours. The population had escaped in their mobile habitats in the days prior.

23.12: The shockwave of the Athos Supernova reaches the Anhooie System, completely destroying Tarash, Pirek, Naranyx, and the moons of Amarius. Only 6% of the land-based population of the system is successfully evacuated before the blast hits, and the senate is not among them. With this, the Tyran Empire officially ceases to exist, plunging its remaining territory into factional lawlessness.

42 AC: 25.7: The Mokke, Inak, and Dineh tribes return from their wanderings and join the Kelinea Confederacy. The former two also sign the Federation charter.

43 AC: 29.2: The ruling council at the Rigela System declares the Tyran Free State, initially consisting just of the Rigela, Kommador, and Sardak systems.

12.7: The union between Selar and Extremis joins the Tyran Free State seeking protection from the powerful factions surrounding the Methus System.

10.9: Gagibah, Meridan, and the Corbo-Silsham System are reclaimed from right-wing factions by the Tyran Free State.

48 AC: 14-17.6: Kaegan invasion forces cross the border of the Talarian Union, seizing control of the secondary star Delaure of the Taum System.

7.8: The Kaegan Conflicts begin as the Kaegan destroyer Yikar crosses the Vernarcan Federation border near Kalpen, destroying numerous undefended asteroid mining colonies.

8.8: The Yikar is destroyed by a federation starship stationed in the area.

49 AC: 2.10: The Talarian colonies at Niamh and Agelmar in the outer Koinon System is found massacred with all valuable objects pilfered from the site.

18.11: The Vernarcan Federation colony at Inyaren in the Kalpen System suffers a similar fate, but the local defense fleet manages to get out a distress call to the FSS Fairweather.

The planet almost falls to the Kaegan Sovereignty, but the Fifth Fleet of the Vernarcan Federation Space Force comes to the aid of the Talarian defense fleets and repels them. Many of the best Kaegan warships are lost, ending the "hot" phase of the war.

53 AC: 17.5: The Kaegan Sovereignty begrudgingly signs an armistice with the Vernarcan Federation and Talarian Union, returning control of the inner planets of Delaure to the Union and the Famal and Kalpen systems to the Federation.

55 AC: 29.4: The Ghostlight Signal is transmitted by the First Federation towards the seats of government of every narby nation, warning of impending cosmic threats.

56 AC: 28.2: A replicator swarm of unknown origin is first detected in the outskirts of the Vovos System after a series of attacks on outer belt colonies beyond Phypso.

28.3: The Kesstra Ascendancy declares a quarantine of the system to prevent further spread of the so-called Vovos Psychophager.

59 AC: 2.4: The Tyran Free State finishes consolidating the balkanized Hadauk Cluster with the reclaimation of the Dran System.

19.5: The Marakat Hostage Crisis begins as the staff of the Tyran Free State consulate near Kerillis is taken hostage, escalating over the next days as similar takeovers take place across the nation.

67 AC: 30.9: 491 days later, the Marakat Hostage Crisis ends as the staff of the last occupied consulate, that of the Tyran Free State once again, is escorted to the border near Acrobol.

68 AC: 12.5: The Simiri Swarm is first sighted at the edge of the Vernarca Nebula, surrounding a rogue planet near the border of the Krask Hegemony. The Hegemony begins its attempt to drive them off, fearing their destructive potential.

15.5: The Swarm leaves the planet after being driven off by electromagnetic pulses, setting a course directly for the Verda System. Attempts to stop the swarm were completely ineffective, with ships attempting it left disabled trailing behind the swarm.

29.5: As it approaches Teralla, the FSS Kinil attempts to communicate. After hours of waiting, the swarm finally returns its calls and leaves after realizing that both its prior destinations were inhabited. It leaves the Federation with a log of its millions of years of journeys, and says it will return periodically with more now that it has a place to be welcomed.

71 AC: 25.4: The Second Sonagar Conference convenes in the Yazera System to begin to draft the Second Vernarcan Constitution.

72 AC: 15.3: The First Vernarcan Constitution is officially repealed and replaced by the Second.

123 AC: 14.1: Aboard the FSS Nizal, Commander Va'aksa Errat discovers the Szalana Wormhole halfway between Yauke and the Merrilor System.

Hypothetical Future Events

~1,000,000 AC: Kerillis passes through the Hertzsprung Gap over ~1000 years and begins helium burning.

~1,200,000 AC: Kerillis enters the naked helium burning phase, having decreased to less than 17 solar masses.

~1,600,000 AC: Kerillis goes supernova. The shock is blunted by the density of the Vernarca Nebula, but this will likely sterilize Vistari without preemptive action.
