Tipene Kahurangi
Tipene Kahurangi was the founder of the Aetis Academy, the first Pouakai, and grandfather of Manaia Kahurangi
History
Tipene (Though he was given the English name of Stephen) was born on March, 14, 1883 in Auckland, New Zealand, where he was raised for most of his childhood. He and his family immigrated to the United States in 1898, specifically northern Minnesota, where he proceeded to get a degree in business and became a successful realestate tycoon in the virgining city of Frostbank. His wealth grew rapidly and he bought a large manor on a very large plot of land where he would live the rest of his life. Tipene was known for being ruthless in his practices and sometimes cruel to his employees and tennants alike.
But karma soon caught up to him as in 1914 by Tipene suddenly sprouted a head of brown feathers and a pair of powerful wings and he was quickly ostracized from the community he had helped build. He was constantly berated, chased and even attacked for the next year, forcing him to have a change of heart and become a much kinder and generous man. After which he found he had also developed the ability to control storms and weather.
Legacy
Tipene only had a single child, his son Hohepa (English name Joseph), who later gave him a granddaughter Manaia, both of whom served as principals at the Aetis Academy, dedicated to helping Deviants and Non-humans live in safety and learn to control their abilities.
