Overview

The World of Tirsus is located in the Horus System, in the Orion nebula region. It lies in the arm of Orion, in the Milky Way Galaxy, at just 37 ly of Astarte, the official capital and 1,359 ly from Earth.The planet belongs to the Heptarchy of Orion, and its the main center for its economical and production decisions.

Geography

This planet has a system of rings, and 14 moons, most of which are rocky dwarf moons, most of whom lie within the rings. Just one, out the 14 moons is considerably large, similar to the moon of Earth.

The Planet has a 5 continents and 3 oceans.

History

The Planet was colonized in the year 2258 by settlers from Astarte. The early colonist established a scientific outpost on one of the Moons of Tirsus, to study the fauna and flora of the planet, as well as its chemistry, physics, geology etc... This scientific outpost was soon followed by one of the Original Colony ships, "the Rose", who had carry already settlers to Astarte. It was repaired and used to carry a total amount of up to a million new settlers to the planet, in order to create a proper colony. The planet had already been spotted and considered to be the first planet to be settled by the FASTA, but Astarte was chosen instead.

Ectogenesis was in use to boost the population of Tirsus and make the planet suitable to Human life. Soon by the year 2286, the planet was already well populated, with a total population of 1 Billion inhabitants. Over the years, the population has kept expanding to its current 4 Billion inhabitants.

Institutions

The Planet holds the central headquarters of the Ministry of Economy and Production, one of the seven dominiums of the Heptarchy. Thus all economy and production decisions are taken and managed through this planet. It is thus the second most important world after the capital, Astarte.
