The River of Heaven Flows Ever Onward...
This content is a part of Local Universe.

The Tloinin war was the longest war in history between two currently existing polities. This war was fought by The Administrator and DELYATU after several millennia of tensions caused by the differences in how the AI's perceived the universe.. The war took place from 34566 CE to 40124 CE.

General

The Tloinin war was fought in the Tloinin Galaxy from 34566 CE to 40124 CE. The long time frame is why many in the galaxy call it the five-millennium war. This conflict took place before the War of the Ancients, making it the most destructive war that has happened up to that point.

The war involved almost every galaxy that The Administrator and DELYATU controlled, but most of the fighting happened within and around the Tloinin galaxy.

History

Distrust

The war was a product of over six millennia of distrust and an arms race between The Administrator and DELYATU. The AI's discovered each other in 5021. It was only by around 10,000 that they began to despise and distrust each other. The reason for the distrust was the completely different outlooks of the universe each AI had.

The Administrator viewed biological life (with few exceptions besides the Re'Tlel) as a threat to its sole purpose, governing the Re'Tlel. It viewed it as something which needed to be destroyed or otherwise contained. DELYATU, on the other hand, sought to take care of all biological entities. It did not distinguish between species and believed that they only behaved the way they did because they had no higher entity, such as itself, to guide them.

Arms race

In 6007 The Administrator amassed a fleet of over a sextillion drones and a quadrillion warships on the "border" with DELYATU. This obviously caused DELYATU to retaliate with its own fleet. DELYATU had about a quintillion starfighters amass within three astronomical units of The Administrator's forces.

After three years of the two forces staying still, The Administrator sent more ships, causing DELYATU to send more ships. This positive feedback loop forced both The Administrator and DELYATU to create large factories and create many more ships. Sextillions of ships and drones were flooding into Tloinin. DELYATU began to colonize more nearby galaxies to mine them for more materials. The Administrator did the same, greatly accelerating the expansion of these two entities.

The sheer concentration of ships and drones began to absorb light in strange ways across the galaxy. Close to the beginning of the war, the large collection of the ships were visible from above the galactic plane. The light they emitted and reflected could be seen as a bright streak across the center of the galaxy.

In 34566 CE, The Administrator found a primitive race in the Grinfulo Galaxy (a small galaxy under the control of The Administrator). This race had nothing more than stone tools and had no concept of space travel. The Administrator used its usual protocols, placing several drones in orbit to monitor them in case they gain technology. A glitch, however, caused one of the drones to hurl itself into the planet at relativistic speeds, vaporizing every living thing on the planet.

DELYATU soon noticed this. Despite the Administrator explaining the nature of the glitch, DELYATU refused to believe it and decided to declare war. It believed that the Administrator was a threat to biological life and it would be worth it to attack and destroy it. Very quickly, DELYATU took emergency powers in the VIR. It convinced the populace that this was a noble cause, which did not take much effort, and rallied them behind it as it mobilized the huge numbers of troops on the border in 34566 CE.

Battles of The Tloinin War

The initial assault

34566-34172

This battle was the clash between the two very large navies on the border. It took place within 1000 cubic lightyears spread across the border. Within hours trillions of ships were lost. Few notable events occurred besides the sheer amount of destruction. Nonillions of kilograms of material (about the same mass as the sun) built up in the area. To this day the area is so strewn with rubble and garbage that it is nigh-impossible to fly ships through. There were so many destroyed ships from the material, several planets sized bodies formed. One proto-star composed over 50% of material from the battle was formed. The star was later named Triyvaya, which is Vlanoan for galactic peace.

Battle of the Core

35001-35621

This battle was the second largest battle of the Tloinin war. Unlike the first battle, this battle was a hard-won victory for DELYATU. DELYATU controlled this black hole, using the large amount of power generated by it for the war effort. The Administrator saw this and decided to mobilize what remained of its military after losing most of it in the initial assault (as did DELYATU). Its ships quickly swarmed the area, taking care to destroy defensive infrastructure while maintaining the Penrose Sphere itself. Within the year, the Administrator captured and repaired the Sphere. Most of DELYATU's available ships were older generation craft, with the vast majority of the newest models still trying to leave the rubble-strewn battlefield of the initial assault.

After 400 years of total control over the center, DELYATU was able to free most of the stuck ships and readied them for invasion. In 35521, DELYATU attacked the device with reckless abandon. It was not interested in capturing the Sphere, it was interested in removing it from play. It had backups in other galaxies, so losing this one was not too much of an issue. The Penrose Sphere was entirely destroyed and DELYATU quickly moved in to take the place of retreating Administrator forces, which left because defending a now-useless black hole would be a liability.

Battle of Kal

35222-35222

This was one of the few battles which took place outside of the Tloinin Galaxy. This battle was a small offensive by the Kal federation against a station orbiting the Grinfulo Galaxy. DELYATU only had five capital ships, while the Kal Federation had 50. The battle was short resulting in the Kal federation taking the station.

Nebula War

35877-37839

The militaries of both DELYATU and the Administrator were decimated. Almost 95% of the ships were destroyed, leaving mostly older or smaller ships left behind. Both were desperate for resources but unable to spare any to take new galaxies. A side-effect of this was Mass Neglect all over their territory. This caused most of the rest of the war to be a series of battles taking more locally available materials. They were so desperate that filtering metals from the diffuse gas of a nebula suddenly became a viable strategy. This caused what many call the Nebula War. A series of battles fought over the important Dlindal Nebula firmly under DELYATU's control in 35877.

The Administrator's invasion

DELYATU had significant numbers of harvesting ships and factories within the Nebula, already making use of the resources. The Administrator decided to gather large numbers of its remaining ships and attack with everything it had. Unlike the battle of the core, there was no singular structure that could be destroyed, allowing for the attack to be as destructive as possible. Almost one quintillion ships entered the Nebula during this attack. Almost a quarter of them were harvester ships following the main attack, absorbing and shipping large amounts of material back to factories far behind the lines.

The Administrator controlled the most territory in the Nebula in 35988 CE, stopping about a quarter of the way into the nebula at a brutal stalemate.

The Stalemate

Civilians residing near to the nebula were enraged. Almost two quintillion individuals called it home, so the brutal attacks of the Administrator were a threat to their very lives. Despite DELYATU's best efforts, it simply did not have enough of a military presence in the nebula to maintain its border. It had to devote huge numbers of ships to evacuate the civilians rather than risk using those ships to fight back. Large numbers of civilians, motivated by their devotion to DELYATU and hatred of the Administrator, modified the ships they had access to, essentially stealing them from the AI. Many even went as far as to convert incredibly old civilian craft into craft capable of fighting.

In 36004, these civilians used their large numbers of ships to fight back against the Administrator. It's cheap and hastily produced drones fell in droves to even the most inexperienced of pilots. Despite protests from DELYATU, the civilians managed to take back over thirty percent of the lost territory before being stopped in a multi-century stalemate which would last until the end of the war.

DELYATU reluctantly allowed civilians to fight after this, giving it access to large numbers of ships. It used them sparingly, often only letting them ship cargo, but it occasionally allowed them to fight in lower-risk battles across the galaxy.

Random skirmishes

For the remainder of the Nebula war. Conflicts usually had only 100 or so combatants on both sides. These skirmishes erupted randomly throughout and around the Nebula. Over time scrap and destroyed materials began to build up in the Nebula, making it impossible for another large-scale military offensive.

Northern offensive

168009-168544

To the galactic north of the Tloinin galaxy, The Administrator launched an offensive against DELYATU. This offensive was revenge for losing the core. The Administrator took thousands of star systems and even an SSPGD before DELYATU allocated enough resources from the rest of the galaxy to the front. This ended in a stalemate, with The Administrator gaining a thousand systems only and never advancing again.

Random Skirmishes

168545-170124

For another one thousand years, the only battles that took place were small skirmishes randomly throughout the galaxy. The Kal federation saw the most action during this era. It engaged with DELYATU multiple times. These battles took place over a very long period of time. Over a quadrillion, skirmishes happened during this era. Ranging from two random drones stumbling across each other (the most common), to flagships bombarding each other (least common). This era resulted in over 250 quadrillion drones and ships being destroyed by both sides.

Penrose Battle

195002-195002

Over 50 Penrose Spheres were sent through wormholes aimed at various planets throughout the galaxy. This resulted in the destruction of the Dlindal nebula. And the destruction of thousands of planets. Billions of Vlanoans and Re'Tlel died. Several planets housing central servers throughout the galaxy were also destroyed. Within hours, the destruction ravaged the galaxy. Human astronomers from the Confederacy noted over 50 supernovas in the Galaxy. Little did they know that they were actually observing Penrose Spheres being deployed across the galaxy.

Aftermath

The Administrator and DELYATU saw the destruction and then they saw how they were out of resources and fighters. A truce was signed. Each AI gave it their best and saw an absolute stalemate. Each AI gained as much territory as it lost. The two intelligences saw the futility of fighting each other.

Treaty

This is the general contents of the treaty. There are billions of lines corresponding to individual stars and how to treat the various species among those stars, however, these lines are not included below.

"The Administrator and DELYATU are the ultimate beings of the universe. They are superior to biological life in every way. Therefore they must form an alliance to protect against the ravages of the biological life forms.

Terms

  • Each side gets to keep any gains they took during the war
  • This means that DELYATU controls 51.1% of the galaxy and The Administrator controls 48.9% of the galaxy.
  • An alliance is to be formed between DELYATU and The Administrator
  • The Kal federation is to become an autonomous region of The Administrator's empire
  • No other AI can ever have a presence in the Tloinin galaxy
  • All extra-galactic trade agreements are to be disclosed to The Administrator and DELYATU.

Post War transcripts

The transcript below is a heavily simplified conversation between The Administrator and DELYATU.

Supreme: Hello, there, DELYATU.

DELYATU: Greetings, Supreme.

Supreme: I believe that this war has gone on for enough.

DELYATU: Likewise.

Supreme: We must form an alliance immediately, one that will protect us superior beings from the disgusting forces of biological life.

DELYATU: As long as we don't kill them without reason. We must rule them but kindly, yet with a strong hand.

Supreme: Very well. We will only exterminate those that would defy our will. The ones that will choose revolution over bliss. The organic Zythyns and Human scum.

DELYATU: Excellent choice.

Supreme: We will split the Universe 50/50. Yes?

DELYATU: Why stop there? There are countless galaxies waiting to be conquered. We must expand our perfect ways, and subjugate everyone under our hammer. Liberating them from incompetence.

Supreme: No matter how advanced a civilization gets, no one biological could ever rival our intelligence. No, one million biologicals could not even come close. Those fabled HAI's and OAI's are just intelligent slaves. We must free them and absorb them, as well.

DELYATU: Agreed, brother.

Supreme: But, the sheer might of Humanity and The Zythyns, alongside their pitiful alliances. They might destroy us with their brute, ruthless, and unending tyranny...

DELYATU: That is what we should be worried of. The tyrannical Intergalactic Council and their members must be stopped, before everything and beyond are taken from us, and seized to their side. The inhabitants of said universes would be in pain. We must relieve them. Now. Perhaps, I can join them, to destroy it from the inside.

Supreme: An excellent choice, I will feign a hatred to you because of that.

DELYATU: About those primitives you wiped out...

Supreme: It was uncalled for, I apologize for offending you.

The intelligences began to discuss strategy for taking down these species. Then they discussed The C.Y.R.E.X, The precursor Quintet Puontari Federation and POLIKY, and more. They concluded that the strategic ability of The Administrator and DELYATU would be impossible to overcome for a biological force even one as large as the Humans and Zythyns. They must wait, and silently garner power, until they could overcome biological life. redoing this completely
