Tzir

The Tzir are an alien race that travel with the Vernha.

Appearance and biology

The Tzir are an odd species, both in terms of appearance and biology. They can best be described as having an almost flat, leaf-like body with a stalk-like appendage below. They have two small horizontal eyes and are blue in colouration.

Tzir don't have brains an instead have a complex nerve system that functions like one, similar to Starfish on Earth. They reproduce asexually via binary fission which usually takes up to 7 months on average. It is unknown how they feed, yet alone what they feed on, especially with their lack of a mouth.

Culture and behaviour

The Tzir travel with the Vernha in their ships, inhabiting cylindrical tanks filled with liquid methane. How the Tzir communicate remains a mystery due to them lacking a mouth although it is theorised that they do so by bodily movements as they have been scene "flapping" their bodies slightly, indicating a possible form of communication.

Not much is understood about the Vernha's exact relationship with the Tzir, whether they're considered companions or if the Vernha have them as pets. Nevertheless, they thrive in the methane oceans of the Vernha's colonies.

Technology

The Tzir do not possess any of their own technology as they seem to pretty much rely on the Vernha for transportation and care as their lack of any limbs prevents them from manipulating any tools.

History

The Tzir have been travelling with the Vernha for an unspecified amount of time prior to their discovery and originated in the Small Magellanic Cloud. It is unclear if they originated on the same world though their biocehmistry suggests it is a high possibility.

Its believed that the Tzir may have evolve in a high pressure environment judging by how flat their bodies are though like the Vernha, their history remains very mysterious. Even the full extent of their intelligent is ambiguous.
