Overview

The United Nations of Earth and Luna, officially just the United Nations and sometimes known as the New United nations is the a multinational organisation and the de-facto governing body of Earth and Luna, originally created in 1945 in the advent of world war two, the United Nations serves as a portal to solar system foreign affairs to the nation-states of Earth.

It aims to maintain international peace and security across Earth and its extraplanetary holdings and serve as a centre for coordinating intersolar actions. Recognised as the Sole main governing body of Earth it comprises of of X members from across the solar system.

The United Nations headquarters was originally located in New York City; but then was moved to Brussel in the European Union after the American Constitutional Crisis. However, accusations from the Free Nation's sphere suggested that the older United Nations had a immense lack of power.

The result of that would involve, many nations would pull out from the Old United Nations and from the New United Nations. There, another administrative capital was established in Beijing, China to shift the global balance of power further East.

In 2199 the Lovell UN Administrative Building was opened, to further represent the peoples of Luna.

After 2250 the UN headquarters in New York was reopened and renovated after the original United Nations was mostly reincorporated into the new one. The location of the General Assembly switches around every 3 months, from Brussel to Beijing to New york, to Lovell and then back again.

The New United Nations (2103)

After clear failure of most of the world's democratic institutions, many pressed for the United Nations to intervene, however, due to century-old restrictions and immense lobbying the United Nations could not intervene in such wars as the 2nd American Civil war.

As such, remaining free nations such as the European Federation, New Socialist Republic of China, Australia and many more would form the New United Nations, a much more legislatively powerful version of the original UN, as such the older UN council would abdicate and move to administer the New United Nations.

The Schisim (2103-2104)

The formation of the New United Nations would pose a question to many who already had membership in the older one. However, the issue remained of dual membership, many nations would apply to be or stay in both, which angered the new administration of the "old United Nations."

This would cause minor conflicts between "neutral" nations and the "old United Nations" constituient members, causing many neutral parties to join the New United Nations, or to revoke their application to the New United Nations.
