Star Spangled Banner
The United States of America (US for short) is a Nation located in North America and the Pacific, and the third largest in the World by both Size and Population. It is the Richest, most Powerful, and most Influential in the modern world.
History
The land that makes up America has been inhabited since Prehistoric times, with the first humans arriving over 20k years ago, and settling across what now makes up the Country, developing countless cultures and Nations. The first contact with Non-Natives came in 1565 when the Spanish began to settle the Florida peninsula, soon various European powers would colonize along the eastern seaboard.
In the 1760s Colonists in the 13 British colonies would become upset with the unjust taxation of goods, such as Tee, spiraling into increasingly violent altercations between British forces and the Colonists. This would peak in 1776 where a group of influential colonists known as the Founding Fathers would sign a declaration of independent, causing the revolutionary war proper. After winning the long war in 1783, the colonies (Now States) created a Constitution, Uniting the States of America as one Nation.
The Country would expand quickly due to immigration, thus expanding further West, absorbing Spanish Florida, French Louisiana, Much of Mexico, The North West, Russian Alaska, and the kingdom of Hawaii, until there was 50 states in the union. During this expansion though, the issue of slavery caused a great divide between the South and the rest of the country, resulting in the American civil war to maintain unity, it was the bloodiest war in US history.
Following this the US would experience a period known as the Roaring 20s, an era of cultural and societal change which would give way into the great depression, WW2 and the Cold War, giving way into the America we know today.
