Haven is currently going through a MASSIVE shift in how it works as a setting at large; all current content of Haven on site right now is canon, however it may heavily change in the near future.
Haven (Setting)
Haven as a setting is a HIGH FANTASY. I'm going to FOCUS on the FANTASY of it all. Magic, Dragons, Elves, Heroes, Villains', Gods, Monsters, Swords; all of that is going to be the focus
Technology is all Medieval level at best in any modern or current sense; meaning no space ships, no military guns, no crazy made up technology. We're using horses, magic, swords, and so on.
I am extremely adamant on this; you're not allowed to have some crazy steam punk nation; anything on a steampunk level needs to be either extremely minimal in the modern time, or it is from the ancient past (Like the Cerotellian Empire/Cerotellian Races)
All Imagindarium rules apply, there might be some in-universe rewording or reinterpretations across Haven; but as it is written in Imagindarium pages, it is exactly the same in Haven as well.
Regions
Known World
- The "Known World" is the primary setting of Haven; comprising most of its collective lore.
- The Known World is sometimes referred to as the "Trilateral Worlds;" in reference to three distinctive geographical environments that comprise its physical makeup.
- These three environments are: The Terrestrial World, Aquatic World, and Abyssal World.
- The areas of Haven comprising the "Known World" is definitionally somewhat fluid; changing in amount throughout canonical history, usually with an increase though sparse instances of decrease may occur.
Terrestrial World
- The Terrestrial World consists of all areas of solid land above the oceanic waterline; both continental and island.
- It is composed of two distinctive regions; West and East.
- The West is primarily centered on the continent of Bariquel.
- The East is primarily centered on the continent of Rahmiel.
- Below the Bariquel continent, an island-rich oceanic continent of "Pathiel" can be found in the Austral Sea.
- Above the Rahmiel continent, the peninsular continent of "Zazriel" can be found attached to the northern icy continent of Ruhiel.
- Both West and East are equidistant to the frozen ice northern continent of Ruhiel, and the burning lava continent of Vanriel in the south.
- In-between the two is Pathiel which is a continental region of the "Sundering Sea;" comprised of many islands, some of them decently large.
- The largest island on the map, Theltheim, is located on the top of Pathiel; equidistant to both Bariquel and Rahmiel.
- Both West and East are the same size overall and thus should be framed as such.
- West of the "West" cross the Enrothic Ocean is the "continent" of Enrothiel; a massive swath of land arching in a crescent sort of pattern connecting from the south of Ruhiel to the north of Vanriel basically acting as a big wall preventing the rest of the map west of that point from being shown. It marks the furthest point going west of the Known World.
- East of the "East" cross the Ardonthic Ocean is the "continent" of Ardonthriel. Similar to Enrothiel, Ardonthriel is a massive swath of land which connects to the south of Ruhiel and north of Vanriel, though it adopts a more consistent land mass pattern. It too also acts as a wall preventing the rest of the map east of that pint from being shown. It marks the furthest point going east of the Known World.
