And I looked to the sea of stars, those nascent things still yet to come, and I looked to the parts of myself reflected in their luminant chrome, all that scorched past that brought me here, and I wept.

Hey there! I'm Smoothie, one of the longest-standing members of Amaranth Legacy. You may have known me as CosmicSmoothie. I changed my username slightly in July of 2025. You can also find me on the Fandom site or on discord (@SunlitSmoothie). I have been here since March of 2019, and I don't intend on leaving till I'm six feet in the ground! I own stock in several Scopes, both my own and others', but the one I consider my true visionary project is Chromagaia. I hope you enjoy my presence, because nobody's getting rid of me that easily.
Look Upon my Works, Ye Mighty, and Despair
A Scope owned by my good friend LordSkorne7. I like it a lot, and do my best to expand on the vision he has for it while keeping the spirit of it all. I also make a lot of the person-authored art with Skorne's guidance, and occasionally have ideas that expand on the Scope as a whole.
- Sea-Dog Storm Dragon, my comedy adventure story on Haven.
- Violilly, a type of flowering tree I made for Pathiel partially out of a desire to give it a distinct vibe and partially because I am sick and tired of cherry blossom sakura sugoi hegemony over everything.
- Andarhiel, an island on Haven I will get to writing Soon™.
A very collaborative Scope I consider myself a secondary writer on. I mostly stick to my corners of the universe, but I've had a pretty big hand in reshaping its fundamentals over the years. I've been working with Duo to fill out the use cases of ideas, elemental properties, and the landscape of Zalanthium for a long while. I've also made the official images for it.
- Azurullya
- Zalanthium
Everything in this Scope is mine. It is my second-oldest Scope, just behind Axocora, and it has a decade of disorganized unwritten lore I need to sort through. As the final Scope in the Amaranth Succession, I have a lot of work to do in order to give it the truly thematic ending to the metanarrative cycle the Scopes create.
Everything in this Scope is mine. It's my newest Scope by conceptualization, being made initially in 2022. I consider this my magnum opus, or hope that one day it will be.
- Dragons is my longest article, and took 11 months to create. You better appreciate it.
- Keppel is where most of the story takes place! It's pretty great and I'm not getting those 200 hours of mapping back.
- Magic (Chromagaia) is by far my favorite magic system I have ever made. I put a lot of effort and thought into it and it turned out beautifully.
One of my Scopes I have been cooking on for a few months. It'll get to the level of the others eventually. It's the oldest Scope I have, dating back to late 2012. While the scale of the Scope may be the largest, the actual content takes place in a very small location. Potentially the smallest.
- The Evervoid is the dimension the main story takes place in.
- Toxelugh are the little freaks that live here. I love them so much. Ask anyone else and they'll probably say the same.
- The Nine Lights are the main power system here, a proper noun I managed to steal from one of my adversaries. Honestly one of my proudest accomplishments.
- The Ae Lugh are the primary users of said power system, though I have a bit of work to do on establishing what they need to defend against.
Proud owner of the Fifth Assemblage, the Sirius system, and long-time proponent of the idea of the Scope. Though I was originally opposed to its existence before the Scope system happened, it is a long overdue idea and I will be giving my best to stick to the aesthetics and themes of the world.
Prospective developer of the Luhman 16 brown dwarf pair, though I want to have that be a more collaborative space altogether.
One of my unreleased Scopes, which is mostly the setting for a novella I want to write. No spoilers :3
- Suneater is the title of the story itself.
My Philosophy on Writing
I've had a long time to work out my relationship to different writing styles and genres. From this, I guess here's what you can expect from me. I want to contribute to every Scope that will allow it, no matter how small my part in it ends up being. I gravitate a lot more towards softer rule-aesthetics of fiction, rarely straying past high or science fantasy. There is nothing I love more than making a place I want to just wander around in. You may notice through my works that I see a lot of beauty in most things I make, even if I intend to make them mundane or horrifying initially.
I believe writing and worldbuilding should be fun, first and foremost. I enjoy thinking up ideas and conversing about them, but I cannot in good conscience force myself to write stuff down in article format most of the time. I will use whatever format is most entertaining for me to write in and read, and I believe everyone else should feel free to experiment with styles they like. After years of flip-flopping between trends of what style is "best" or whatever, I'm thoroughly sick of trying to write to appeal to others. My philosophy for my articles is that I am documenting all the information I have as clearly as possible, and injecting enough personal voice to inspire me to think more on any re-reads I do. I will say everything that needs to be said and answer questions that need answering, but I will hold myself back from empty rambling. That can be saved for discord chats.
I don't believe that depicting things in fiction automatically endorses it, but I do believe that handling sensitive topics with care is essential. I go out of my way to do research and try to not misrepresent any real-world groups or communities within my work. I take so much passive psychic damage from common phrases and jokes now, but I can at least say my settings don't cause that same discomfort to anyone else.
What Else I Do Here
I do a lot of writing when I can, but that is far from all I do on Amaranth Legacy. I'm one of the community managers for the Discord, so administrative decisions pretty much always involve me. Additionally, I am one of the managers for our community Tumblr. I make it my personal mission to keep the core values of our community alive, be it through community engagement, art streams for meeting B-roll, or just stepping in to mediate heated discussions.
Art!
Hey, have you ever wondered who made the logo and backgrounds for the site? I am the artist behind several of our site's backgrounds and our logo. I have a decent bit of experience with art, and most of the images I use are of my own creation. I feel it's important to give the community and its sites a unique identity, and who better to do that than someone in the community itself?
I usually have commissions open, though I do get busy with life on occasion. My prices might be a bit much for people to casually get, but I do like to do art for my fellow members here at Amaranth Legacy for free sometimes. If it's a Scope background or glyph for you, I will do it for free. Nobody goes visual-hungry here at Amaranth Legacy, and most of these are easy enough to make that I don't see the need to charge anyone.
Maps
I have no shame, no pride and no honor. I have stolen and replicated the mapping style of Stellar for my own devious gain. I do have some attempts to differentiate my clone of his mapping style! It's a simple enough process that I can make a full system map in a little under 45 minutes, depending on the number of moons and planets that have rings. My maps are not intended to be true to scale or have great detail, but are instead meant to give a brief idea of system architecture while looking pretty. The scales of the celestial bodies is usually somewhat accurate in relation to other planets or moons, but I make no promises.
Consultation
Now, I don't claim to be an expert in most things, but I am almost always available to talk ideas with people. Whether you need advice on options you're considering or just want to bounce ideas off of someone, I'm here to talk (mostly on the discord). And if I don't know something, chances are I'll try to research it for more ideas! It helps my own creative process, and collaboration and support are some of the community values I want to embody as a community manager. My guarantee is that if I can't find the information you need, I will at least get you a direction you can go searching in.
About Me
So, besides Amaranth Legacy, who am I? It's a complicated question that forms the basis for major arcs in like, all my stories. Personal identity is a huge journey for me, but I can at least definitively describe some of it. Character bio stats, essentially. I'm 5'9" for those of you who want to make height jokes, and 7'2" for everyone else. I like sour and tart foods as treats, and I can't stand foods that have are mostly texture without much flavor. My favorite season is summer, the hotter the better. This is possibly my most controversial non-political opinion. I'd like to think I'm a morning person by nature, but I much prefer the evening and early night. The hours before dawn are my absolute least favorite time, and I will do just about anything to avoid being awake then.
My favorite games are probably Minecraft and No Man's Sky. Space Engine isn't a game, but I have several hundred hours in it. It's how I found this place, after all. I quite like games where you can aimlessly wander beautiful places. My life can be hectic, so I find it difficult to get really good at games. Being a casual is like therapy for me.
Other interests of mine include astronomy and mythology. I consider myself an amateur in these fields, at least compared to the people who get really into them, but I'm probably qualified to say I'm decently educated at them.
I'm a massive fan of all things fantastical, as should be evident from my writing. Some of my main media inspirations are Dune, Kill Six Billion Demons, Frieren, Puella Magi Madoka Magica, and Star Wars (purely out of spite because I can do everything they did BETTER (besides the aesthetics they kinda killed with that)). Feel free to overanalyze everything I write to pick apart where I get my ideas and then call me a hack in my direct messages. If you would like to chat with me about any of these, I am also open to that.
You may be noticing a severe lack of dragon-focused media in that list, coming from the person that wrote the almost 24,000 word article on dragons. This is because I am very picky with dragon media! Besides astronomy, dragons have been a defining interest for me throughout my entire life. My preferences for it are likely obvious through the article, but I'll just go ahead and say that I don't enjoy the portrayals of dragons in a lot of popular things (if I have to see Toothless one more time in a movie trailer I'm going to get an ulcer). Also, if you try to distinguish drakes from wyverns and amphitheres and tell me they aren't "true" dragons, you lose 15,000,000,000 relationship points with me immediately. Lol.
