INTRODUCTION

The Vahapu (or Vaha for short) are one of five sapient peoples native to the star system of Caliira, concentrated on their mid-sized homeworld of Agimus. They come in two ethnicities (detailed further in) with considerable differences, but all Vahapu share these characteristics:

  • Short: The shortest full-grown Vahapu measures at 129cm (4'2ft), while the tallest measures at 158cm (5'2ft). Even at their tallest, they're shorter than other races native to Caliira.
  • Nimble: Agility is a constant, and a necessity for many Vahapu in order to outmaneuver predators... And to catch up with any prey or livestock running from them.
  • Front-facing, wide eyes: A Vahapu sees with binocular vision, and sees quite well. Front-facing eyes could be considered an unusual thing for a species with so many things that could consider them prey, but most believe their mastery of Agimus's lands has prevented them from being far-eyed.

TOTAL NUMBERS

The current total of the Vahapu population is notably lower than the historical total. In 2045 C.T (Caliiran time) the total number was 34,500,00 across all of Caliira, with most of this number being pulled from Agimus. In the current year of 2067 C.T, this total has gone down to 19,100,000.

The reasons for this decline is simple: The parasite Yeriste, referred to by researchers as T.yeri. T.yeri was first recorded on Agimus in the continent of Meteran during 2061 C.T, quietly spreading and eventually wreaking havoc when it found it had enough hosts. Villages, towns, entire cities were rendered unrecognizable and still belong to the parasite and its wards today-- wards that are no longer classed as Vahapu.
