Valentino 'Val' Myxici, better known as Hagfish, is a founding member of Team Phoenix.

History

Val was born and raised in Detroit, Michigan where he was something of a trouble-maker, playing pranks on anyone he possibly could simply for the love of being a nuisance. He came from a broken home, his father had left when he was 2 years old and his mother was an unstable alcoholic. The lack of parental attention leading him down his trickster path as a misguided attempt to receive any kind of recognition.

However, when he was 15 he developed his Deviant abilities. As he produced more and more slime it was becoming harder to hide and simple tasks were becoming much harder. Though it wasn't until he became entirely encased in slime that his powers were discovered, and he was quickly targeted by Anti-Deviant groups.

Val had plenty of experience evading people who wanted to beat him up but the Anti-Deviant group members were much more skilled and determined than his classmates, combined with struggling to manage his abilities and he would've likely been killed if Manaia Kahurangi hadnt found him in the nick of time and dispersed his attackers

She then offered him a place to stay at the Kahurangi Institute so he could have a safe place to learn about how his powers worked.

Powers

Slime Generation - Valentino's sweat glands produce a thick, viscous slime instead of sweat.
- Slime Constructs - Val's slime is thick enough that he can create constructs out of it. Including weapons, tools and dummies.
- Slime Armor - Val's slime coats his entire body, he can produce more to thicken the coat to form armor. and like his superhero namesake, allows him to deflect or absorb attacks.
- Slime Entanglement - Val can tangle people in his slime if they make physical contact with him.

Water - Valentino's slime loses its structural integrity when immersed in water, and can be easily dissolved.

Roxanne O'Riley - Valentino has a crush on Roxy but is apprehensive about sharing his feelings to her
