The Weak Obey - The Just Defy

What makes the Brotherhood so dangerous is that they understand us - And all they consider their enemies. They understand not only what we think, but what we believe. Though in their delusion, they consider us wrong, they understand why we operate the way we do, and the goals we have. Even in worlds where privacy is impossible, this understanding ensures they know how to operate right under our noses. They know what we want to hear, what we want to see, what we want to happen - And can ensure it all goes their way, right before they strike. That is what makes them a dangerous enemy.

A shadow organization that operates in both Voidsea and the Realmlands, The Brotherhood makes no claim to land, favours no Kinde, and seeks no glory. It is after them that the Valhallan Age has been named.

It is not a Faction in the same sense as the Cosmic Union or the Twilight Imperium, nor does it have the same structure, interests or motivating factors of these Spheres. Indeed, many of these factions aren't even aware of the existence of said Brotherhood at all, as they have gone to excruciating efforts to hide their activities, and ensure that no enemy can reveal their existence without themselves being revealed or destroyed.

The Valhallan Brotherhood operates without borders, without regard for Kinde - So long as they are willing to serve the cause they all believe in, all are welcome.

History

The history of the Brotherhood is vast, stretching tens of thousands of years.

It's history is vast, and splintered heavily - It is a force which is the amalgamation of various likeminded groups throughout the history of literally thousands of worlds and civilizations, both within the Voidsea and in the Realmlands, before coalescing and forming into one singular, yet decentralized collective. The vastness within which they operate has necessitated the formation of regional groups. It is this reality that lead to them adopting the Valhallan symbol Yggdrassil - The roots form into a trunk, before branching off, while still remaining part of the whole.

Though possessing their own goals and ideals, the Brotherhood doesn't seek to conquer, but rather to guide and teach where they can, and act on behalf of those that need their aid where words and lessons fail. This willingness to act had lead them into many conflicts with rival forces such as the Iron Decree, whom the Brotherhood has been fighting for millennia.

Members of the Brotherhood are everywhere - Within the armed forces Factions like the Co-Operative, or the Board of Directors within the Conquistadores, or the raiders of the Nexvoid - Anywhere they may be useful, or can get near one of their targets.

Founding

There is no single "Founding" within the Brotherhood - It is a mishmash of various groups, all of which had their own founding, before joining the Brotherhood.

Over time, these groups would learn of one another's existences, becoming allies, and aiding one another, until such a time came as the distinctions no longer served a purpose, and only hindered them - This created the formation of the Valhallan Brotherhood as a singular entity, which would operate across the Voidsea and the Realmlands, in opposition to the Iron Decree, and all those like them. It is not uncommon for groups

Operations

To those who know where to look and how to spot them, the Brotherhood seemingly has operations in every corner of every world. They are found among the lowest castes of the Zrelgian Krateocracy, to the corporate boards of the Conquistadores.

Stealth and subterfuge are the primary methods by which the Brotherhood operates. It conceals it's existence from the outside world, for several reasons.

It has strongholds, hidden enclaves, secret hideouts, but has on occasion had a deeper running with villages and towns sympathetic to their cause - Without openly ruling, of course. The Brotherhood seeks to operate in the shadows, because they are not rulers, nor desire to be.

Ideology

The Brotherhood

Branches

The sheer size of the Voidsea and the Realmlands, and the conditions within various Spheres, had caused the Brotherhood to form various 'Branches' - Sub-Groups which are still part of the Brotherhood, but are operationally autonomous, and specialized to dealing with regional threats.

Digital Shadows

The Digital Shadows operate within Conquistador territory - They are specialists in technological operations, cyber-warfare, hacking, and economic subterfuge. Often called upon to deal with issues relating to cyber-security, they are primarily Voidsea based. They are masters at getting around security systems, and accessing digital infrastructure. They are also frequently in conflict with the Obsidian Answer, another Shadow Organization, loyal to the Conquistadores.

They are often wearing cap-hats in addition to their hoods.

Young Undead

The Young Undead are not a regionally Bound Branch, but rather an ideological Branch, as well as a special-operations unit within the Brotherhood. They are used in far more reckless and destructive operations, which can border on the terroristic at times. Many are dedicated to using their lives in order to inflict as much damage upon their various enemies as possible, even at the cost of their own.

As such, high-profile assassinations and destruction of infrastructure are their callings. Ramming Voidcraft into vital stations, planting bombs, and violent revolutions are just some of the activities one can expect from the Young Undead. While these activities can be expected by any member of the Brotherhood, these are usually rarities. For the Young Undead, this is the norm.

They usually take in highly dedicated members with a penchant for violence, a mentality that fits with their culture, or various other misfits that don't work in other Branches.
