Antirrhopusapiens

Known as the Van Meter Visitor or Bright-horn, these flying predators and scavengers are native To Vasss-ae-lixxx. The species has been semi-domesticated by the native Antirrhopusapiens, and often assists them in their hunts.

Description

Bright-horns are primarily dark in color, being various shades of black or gray, with a bright yellow horn-like crest on their forehead. They bear an extremely high resemblance to the pterosaurs of Earth

Ecology

On their native planet they’re known as the Bright-Horn. Bright-horns fill the niche of Hawks and Eagles on the Jo'daktan and Megnegti Plains. They use bolts of energy from their horn-like crests to dispatch prey and fend off predators or rivals they can also simply create a very bright flash of light, stunning an enemy just long enough to allow the Bright-horn to flee.

Bright-horns also have the ability to open small valves located beneath their wings that connect to their stomachs. Allowing them to release a noxious smell that will spoil the appetite of even the hungriest predator.

Bright-horns are efficient scavengers, feeding off corpses, and releasing their stench to claim a carcass as theirs.
