While over half of its perimeter borders the unclaimed empty space beyond the nebula, its longest border outside of that is with its fellow former [[Alliance of Five]] member, the [[Carremmat Ro'kasa]]. Clockwise of this is the [[Vernarcan Federation]], including its newest member state, the [[Dosi Confederation]]. Finally, the minuscule [[Eskra]] and the standoffish, isolationist [[Axastat]] complete the circuit around imperial territory. During the later years of the [[War of the Broken Bow]], the Vauratin Empire was hit hard by strikes from the [[Void]] due to the unfortunate position of its territory, resulting in the loss of many key systems and population centers.
