Overview

The Venusian Federation ("Венерианская Федерация" - Russian) is the a loose confederation of Venostats and stations located on or around Venus.

Created in the 2175 by newly independent Venusian "City-states" to prevent widescale war or destruction on the planet Venus. Venus hosts a population of 750 Million people and hosts one of the largest astroculture industries in the solar system.

Venus also owns the largest unexploited mineral deposits in the solar system, located on Mercury.

History

The first missions - ~2060

With the advent of a new space race, nations competed to land on eveyr major body on the solar system. The first manned Venusian flyby was conducted by the ESA in 2061, however the first true Venostratic (in Venus' atmosphere) did not happen until the 2075 NASA Aphrodite program, created in an effort to place the first Venostats on Venus, however the crew were left stranded there after the 2nd American Civil War, causing a Chinese-ESA rescue mission to save the exiled astronauts.

Colonies on Venus - 2110-2160

Within 50 or so years after the first missions to Venus, a mass wave of colonisation would take place on the part of American led efforts to create the first Venostats and infastructure on Venus, this would be met by a larger New United Nations coalition presence to prevent the shipment of weaponary to Venus. This would culminate in the Ishtar incident in 2166 where rudimentary plane-based reconnaissance over OUN Venostats located on the north pole of Venus revealed the first doccumented weapons on Venus. This would culminate in the NUN sending a set of air-to-air missiles to their Venostats, resulting in a standoff lasting 2 months before bilateral talks would end the crisis, however it would mark the beginning of a arms race between the NUN and OUN on Venus.

The Bilateral agreement to withdraw from Venus - 2175

After the 1st Lunar war and what was later dubbed the "south pole nuclear incident", the NUN and OUN decided to stop escelation and agreed on the bilateral withdrawment agreement to allow Venostats to not only become independent, but also recive free infastructure and aid from both sides until the nation is deemed "self sufficient."

This would mark the start of "Venusian Nationalism" along with "closing" a front of the Cold war on Earth.

Intermission Period...

Ecconomy

Venus' ecconomy has recently exploded after the "Venusian Century" project agreed to by the members of the VF, allowing for mass investment into untapped resources on Mercury along with furthering their position as the solar system's agricultural giant. Venus mainly exports refined chemicals (sulphur and other volatiles) along with their massive amounts of crop yields and processed foods.

Culture

Venus inherits its culture from the large slavic population that migrated during the 2nd wave of colonisation in the 2200s after the effects of climate change and Russian and EU government funding, allowing for a large diaspora of slavic speaking citizens (mostly Russian or Ukrainian) inhabiting the Venostats of Venus.

This, however varies from city to city as multiple initiatives were created during the height of the climate crisis and the eventual collapse of the OUN under the weight of the 3rd Lunar war. This would cause a surge of 3rd wave Americans to enter the Venusian sphere, causing a Martian-American influence to grow within the collective cultural sphere of Venus.

Venusians enjoy large amounts of tea grown on their Venostats, but otherwise would tend toward eating the fast growing GMOs located in the agricultural swarm in orbit.
