Holos killed nearly one-hundred billion people throughout Eos

The largest stars go out in a blaze of glory, often leaving behind chaotic remnants, the most extreme objects in the universe. Such stars, in particular the giant stars, burn through their fuel very quickly, having life spans lasting relatively short periods. Though the Triumvirate Civilization's history spans three millennia, making it more apt to compare it to a long-lived dwarf star, that mighty empire exploded in much the same way, as though a red dwarf suddenly, and very rapidly, aged hundreds of billions of years.

In what is known as the War of the Final Transition, one of the most powerful and influential civilizations to ever have existed met its end. In a violent explosion of conflict that was building up for millennia, the ancient universe ended, ushering in a new era of civilization, often called "contemporary history" despite the Triumvirate falling nearly two thousand years ago.

The War of the Final Transition, also known as the Second Triumvirate Civil War or the War of Erasure, was a galactic-scale civil war lasting from 8058 to 8086 taking place in and around the Aylathiya region. At first, it only involved two states within the Triune Republic, but it soon came to involve the entire nation as well as surrounding ones. In a total war involving well over one trillion personnel (about 41% of total individuals alive in the Triumvirate), every state threw their entire economic, industrial, and scientific capabilities behind the war effort. It saw usage of weapons unseen before in the galaxy, including the first utilization of Hardlight blades and biological warfare. The death toll is entirely unknown, with estimates ranging from one to two trillion.

The war began with the Triune Senate abandoning the Ommekha system out of fear of Administrator Holos, the eternal head of state and government of the Republic. Ma'eau and Titania, the others who used to share that title, decided they were finished with Holos' tyranny. They decided to dissolve the Triumvirate that day and aided the Senate in declaring independence. Most of the death toll was due to infighting as Titania and Ma'eau failed to prevent the Triumvirate's former states from waging total war against one another. Holos themself killed well over a hundred billion, with some estimates claiming nearly twice that many. This was a single-handed assault using Holos' impressive thaumic abilities, ranging from intense neutrino radiation to naked quark weaponry, Holos employed tools previously unseen to punish society for its disobedience.

The War of the Final Transition was so destructive that many records from before the war were destroyed or purged; much of the history of the Triumvirate Civilization from before the war comes from third party documents and archeological evidence, with original documents being a rare find. The war is directly responsible for the existence of nearly every modern nation within Aylathiya, from Sagittarium to the Commonwealth of Aggregate Aylathiya.
