Wildroot

Overview

Wildroot is a small, desert planet of the Sundust System, situated on the far western frontier of the Lone Horizon, within Ambrosia's Realm of Resonance. Formerly a member world of the Havriel Alliance of Ambrosia, it is the ancestral home of the Rudyondi species, and once served as a center of hybrid cultural development between the indigenous Rudyondi, and the immigrant Havriel populations. Prior to its destruction, Wildroot long maintained a distinct and unified cultural identity, despite its peripheral location and lack of association with any dominant interstellar power.

Like all worlds within the Havriel Alliance, Wildroot would be subject to extensive orbital bombardment by the Sanlagosa Concordant during their war against the whole of the Havriel in their Crusade. This bombardment would ultimately result in the near total extermination of the Rudyondi species, as they were a race largely sedentary on their home world and not often seen in the wider Galaxy. As a result, the Rudyondi's death was result of an accepted colleterial to the Sanlagosa's then-ultimate aim of the Havriel's total annihilation.

Throughout galactic history, Wildroot has held disproportionate significance due to its association with several pivotal figures throughout galactic history. Most notably, it is the birthplace of Anna Novum, a Havriel woman born in late 1,200 AGY (Ambrosian Galactic Year) who would later reveal herself to be Creation's Annamordia. Wildroot itself would be unintentionally frozen over by Anna, whose panic upon witnessing the planet’s ruined state after the Sanlagosa bombardment caused her uncontrolled cryogenic abilities to spiral out of control.

In addition; Wildroot is intimately tied to the life of Mace Sappho, a male Isariel whose birth marks the beginning of the Ends Emergence calendar. Although not born on the planet, he spent his formative years entirely on Wildroot, adopting many of the native Rudyondi mannerisms despite his legacy largely being formed in worlds beyond Wildroot. Another prominent figure linked to the planet is Verrence Haywood, an Oblivione-Rudyondi member of the Typhonian Order, and a central leader within the Cold’s Chosen faith; the group who had nearly frozen over the whole of the entire galaxy in their zealous pursuit of "Eternal-Cold."
