Template:InfoboxPlanetWindrup is an Me-Class Conyth colony world located 251.16 LY from the Orion Nebula and is a member world of the Thulcandran Federation.

History

The planet formed around 12.066 billion years ago around its parent star in the manner most planets form. The fourth planet in a five-planet star system, Windrup was protected early on in its history by the fifth planet in the star system, a J-Class giant called Chrin.

Despite being three times as old as Earth, the planet has not managed to evolve advanced intelligent life, mostly due to the mass extinction events caused by the planetary rings raining debris on the surface, the last extinction event being around the year 250000 BCE.

In the year 4578 CE, a group of Conyth colonists arrived and settled on the planet trying to escape their homeworlds increasing wars among their population. The planet then became a member world of the Thulcandran Federation and remained a member, even relocating the entire star system to the Federation’s new location in the Via Aurum.

Life

The life on Windrup is large thanks in part to the increased amount of oxygen in the atmosphere, something the Conyth were looking for in their specifications for a colony world. Most of the animal life on the planet are herbivores, with very little in the way of carnivorous life. The Conyth discovered that certain Windrupian life was suitable for consumption.

Windrupian cuisine has become more and more common throughout the Federation and surrounding interstellar nations.

Cultural Significance

Windrup is a major trade center among the Federation as it is the only world in which Conyth cuisine and culture can be experienced within the confines of the Federation. It’s most noted for the cuisine.
