Xcathli

Template:Species TemplateThe Xcathli are a reptilian alien species, which originate from Xcathlia. They are widely considered to be one of the most prominent species inside the Confederacy of Borealis, as their history goes further back before the War of the Decamillenial Transition.

A baseline Xcathli are about 3 meters tall, for both men and women. Although some records show some Xcathli long ago to have been over 650 cm tall. Some historical documents indicate that all Xcathli used to be even taller taller. Their scales are tinged as a reddish color, and their eyes are small and black. They have body proportions unlike any major species seen, being very unique in its body structure. A multitude of feelers around its 'neck' can be seen, with bulbs that can detect changes in temperature, atmospheric pressure, and can flare up if the Xcathlian feels threatened. Some species of Xcathli lack this altogether, instead possessing red skin instead of scales. This makes them a bit more sensitive to their environment, and they do not need the feelers as a result.

War of the Decamillenial Transition

The Xcathli and its nation (the Xcathli Stellar Federation) were presented as enemies to the Lactean Confederacy in the War of the Decamillenial Transition. Being one of the major parties, they contributed to the destruction and eventual reformation of the LaC to the Confederacy of Borealis.

History on Xcathlia (Will be moved to Xcathlia)

The Xcathli first emerged approximately 1.6 million years ago on their homeworld of Xcathlia. Evolving from previous, less sapient lifeforms, they were the first intelligent species to live in their star system. Like many sapient species, they discovered how to manipulate energy, and easily become the dominant force on their planet.

Over the next millennia, ancestors of the Xcathli traveled across the farthest reaches of the planet. They ended up settling down in clans, soon creating cities and eventually full-scale civilizations. These grew in technology and firepower exponentially, discovering many new ways to produce and keep energy, as well as more fine things like nutrition and weapons.

Various civilizations would dot the planet for a period of over 50,000 years, culminating in a final global union formed with the purpose of interplanetary development. Roughly 200,700 years ago, the first probes were sent beyond the homeworld of the Xcathli. While the Xcathli did not leave their system system for many centuries after that, eventually they began to reach out and colonize the stars around them. The Xcathlians then formed a stellar government, where the rest of its history is explained there.
