Yahnahpina

Yahnahpina is a habitable planet, the third in orbit around the star Thor. It is the homeworld of the Brontoscincidae. Yahnahpina is frequently ravaged by powerful thunderstorms which have encouraged the native lifeforms to evolve the ability to either resist or control electrical currents.

Much plant life on Yahnahpina produces a rubber-like latex either in their leaves or in their trunks/stems that minimizes damage from lightning strikes, but as a consequence makes the foliage of the planet tough and unpalatable to most other species in the galaxy. Though native herbivores have adapted to this rubbery food.
