Galactography

Colonized Space

Currently defined as all space within a 12,000 light year radius of Earth. Exactly 80% of its systems are considered colonized.

Midregions

Currently defined as all space more than 12,000 light years but less than 24,000 light years away from Earth. Just a few million of its systems are colonized.

Wild Space

Currently defined as all space more than 24,000 light years away from Earth. Very few of its systems are colonized.

What counts as colonized?

A system is colonized if it has over 1,000,000 inhabitants by the official modern definition, while it is developed if it has sufficient infrastructure, and simply expanded to if it has been visited by sapient solspawn.

Timekeeping

Present Day

Present day is the year 6800 CE, this being in the same calendar system we use in real life.

Calendar

In-universe, the Gregorian Calendar has been kept as a unified timekeeping system for simplicity. However, most planets have their own local timekeeping systems and calendars that align more to their orbit and rotation, and a mix of both are used.

Latticed Matter

Matter that contains sporadic nanites connected to one another and to the matter itself by weak energy streams. They are able to alter matter on the zeptoscale by sending near infinitesimal signals through the streams.

Latticed Package

Package composed of latticed matter that can be expanded when needed, used to compress larger items into a small space, and automatically produced by assemblers if an object is too large.

Mechform

Mechanical, artificial being, such as a mechoid or mechoty.

Mechoid

Sapient that is primarily artificial in makeup.

Mechoty

Nonsapient that is primarily artificial in makeup, in other words, a robot.

Mesoform

Being that has characteristics of a mechform and bioform.

Mesoid

Sapient that is both heavily artificial and biological in makeup, in other words, a cyborg.

Sapient that exists in the cyberverse.

To transmit one's consciousness into a holographic projection via an envircher, or the result of doing so.

Of or relating to aliens, used as a prefix before mechform, mesoform, bioform and virchform to imply xeno origin.
