Ertaka is the fourth planet of the Ugura System in the Ambrosia Galaxy. Today, it is a temperate E-Class planet with unicellular life in its oceans. Ertaka, roughly translated, means "peace"

Overview

Originally, Ertaka was a cold ice-shell planet with an expanse of ice and snow across its entire surface. Like many ice worlds in the Ambrosia Galaxy, Ertaka had a large sub-surface ocean underneath its icy surface with unicellular life existing within it. This life would continue to exist even after Ertaka's terraforming. During this ice-shell period, the Ugnara would construct large cites across its surface in temperature controlled domes.

After the Ugnara Wars, and the Ugnara's joining of the Ambrosia Alliance of United Systems, the Ugnara would offer Ertaka as a site for human terraforming as a sign of peace. Terraforming began on 10,478 CE and concluded on 10,700 CE.

The planet has a retrograde rotation, while it travels around its parent star in a prograde orbit. This is usually somewhat rare as celestial bodies will typically share the same direction with both their orbit and rotation. The reason for this is that the planet was struck by a large asteroid during its formation, reversing its rotation.

Though it appears that the planet has continents, the planet is unable to as it lacks tectonic plates. When Ertaka was terraformed the planet was given "artificial continents". Each of these "continents" are named after a concept of camaraderie, they are: Freawdsi meaning "friendship". Allatta meaning "alliance." Bralovaa, meaning; "brotherhood." Sialovaa, meaning; "sisterhood.".And Compriquea meaning; "companion".

Its four dwarf moons are named after the Ugnara's "Five Stages of Peace". As their names are the literal words for these concepts. The Ugnara believe that peace is always followed by these five concepts. In order they are: Whana, meaning "war". Desol, meaning "death". Mekaa, meaning "memory". Compaikaa, meaning "compassion". and Tretara, meaning "treaty" respectively. Whana and Desol were created from an asteroid collision, while the remainder were captured by Ertaka's gravity.

The life on Ertaka exclusively exits within its oceans. This life is a large family of microorganisms that has the potential to evolve into more complex forms in the future. These lifeforms take the appearance, and characteristics of bacteria.

In Ugnarain mythology, Ertaka was the goddess of peace, as her name literally means peace in Ugnarain. She was the third child of Urgutu and Ugura. She would be followed by five spirits wherever she went, these spirits were the bearers of five concepts that the Ugnara believed must happen for peace to be achieved. These concepts were as followed: War. Death. Memory. Compassion. And treaty. If a war was to occur, those who wanted peace must pray to Ertaka, then she would instruct that these five concepts must be met in order for her to end the conflict.

History

Ertaka formed around 3,026,000,000 BCE along with its parent star, Ugura. During its formation, an asteroid around 100 kilometers in diameter struck the planet. This collision was so destructive that it was powerful enough to change the entire rotation of the planet, and slow it from five standard hours, to thirty three hours. This event also created its two dwarf moons Whana and Desol. Its other three dwarf moons, Mekaa, Compaikaa, and Tretara were captured by the planet's gravity throughout the remainder of the 3,000,000,000 BCEs.

Life began to arise within the planet's sub-surface oceans around 1,200,000 BCE. This life, though evolving into more and more forms of life, would not progress beyond single-cell microorganisms.

The Ugnara would first land on the planet around 9,870 CE, taking measurements of the atmosphere, surface, and its sub-surface oceans. These measurements lead to the discovery of life within the oceans, answering the Eternal Question for the Ugnara. After this, the Ugnara would begin to create colonies on the surface. By 9,950 CE, Ertaka would have domed cities across most of its surface.

After the Ugnara's defeat during the Ugnara Wars, the Ugnara Kingdom, after joining the Ambrosia Alliance of United Systems, offered Ertaka as a location for humans to terraform and call as home. Graciously, humans began to terraform the planet on 10,478 CE. It became fully habitable to humans on 10,700 CE.
