"Like something straight out of a fantasy novel, Fasia stood. Like a testiment to the oddities of the galaxy that surrounded them. Yet in all of that, the beauty of the world stood out, aincent cities towering from every corner and continent. Bloody history gave way to progress and fanatical devotion to peace and protection - This was Fasia - A planet that in of itself embodies everything the Federation now stood for."

Fasia is a planet located within the Kauike System and acts as it's local capital, located within the Verpletter Dwarf Galaxy. It is a member world of The Commune Federation.

One of the most unique worlds within the Federation, Fasia is home to several Human Mutant sub-species, after Humans colonized the world after the Seal-Off of Verpletter. Fasia possesses unique properties which make species evolve at incredibly rapid rates, and these evolutions took place all over Fasia, mutating the Humans that were there from their baseline Humanity into various groups with various distinct charictaristics.

Often described as a world that came straight out of a fantasy Novel from Earth, the worlds unique and diverse variety of life has made it a hub of activity for The Commune Federation. It is considered one of the gems of the Federation, and it one of the centers of cultural, political, economic and military matters within it's local sector.

In addition, Fasia is noteworth for it's rich history, and it's many surviving aincent cities and monuments. These have been merged with more modern innovations brought to the world by The Commune Federation, and have intermingled with one another as the cultures there became more and more confederated with one another. A melting pot of culture, it is one of the 100 Elected Gems of the Commune Federation.

Unique Evolutionary Properties

Fasia is home to a unique phenomenon in which the evolution process is sped up for all the creatures living on it. A certain strain of coding in the wildlife there prompts rapid mutations, which the Humans that settled on Fasia acquired when they ate the edible plants and wildlife. After only a few generations, the many various mutant sub-species of Verpletter were born, and have continued to evolve over the course of the next ten thousand years.

Due to this phenomenon, there is incredible diversity in the fauna of Fasia, as well as within the mutant sub-species themselves. By the sixth generation of Humans on Fasia, many huge mutations ceased occuring. It is theorized that this occured because Humans are not native to Fasia, and did not evolve the nessesary biology to fully take advantage of the unique properties of the world. By the year 3000VC, the evolutionary process seems to have stopped in the sub-species. While mutations still occur, they are nowhere as noticable as they were previously.

An interesting fact to note is that when taken from Fasia, the wildlife and plantlife does not seem to maintain this rapid onset of evolutionary mutations. It is thought that this process is what has stopped the mutant sub-species from undergoing more rapid evolutions in the last several millennia.

Native Species of Fasia

There are many distinct Human sub-species local to Fasia. though they competed with one another in the past, after becoming part of The Commune Federation, these species have come to a communal and mutually beneficial relationship with one another. Each species is found on every continent, though they have environmental preferences.

The Elaven are a human sub-species that resemble elves from fantasy stories from Earth. They tend to be taller than the average human, have pointed ears, and possess black sclera. The Elaven are historically one of the most preveilanet of the Verpletter species, next to the Qar-Qar and the Sürunen. They are commonly found to inhabit the forests of Fasia. Before joining the Federation, their Capital was Arran Lenora.

The Dwanvo are a human sub-species that resemble Dwarves from fantasy stories in Human culture. They are shorter than the average Human, and tend to be stronger. They are famous for their abilities to construct huge sub-surface cities. there are several spots on the surface where Dwanvo can be found en mass. There are also only a few locations where one can reach the Dwanvo undercities, located in cities around Mount Jezzamar, the Slopes of Desh'ran'ar, Gloffreys Pass and several others.

The Qar-Qar are a human sub-species that resemble horned, pale humanoids. They also tend to have red or white hair. Typically they reside in the mountains of Fasia, constructing towering cities which they called Kaqarka. Politically they are akin to Communists. They have historically been one of the most open and accepting of the Fasian species, open to confederation and collaberation with all around them. As such, they were some of the most vocal advocates of joining The Commune Federation.

Ororks are a human sub-species that resemble Orcs from human fantasy. Their skin tones vary from green to red and black, and are noticable for having a set of tusks. They live in tribes wiuthin the Fasian jungles, and have grown sturdy and adept at camoflage as a result of this environment. Interestingly, Ororks tend to have a peaceful culture, but have been to scapegoats for much of Fasia's existance until The Commune Federation arrived.

The Skyborne are a sub-species of humanity that evolved wings that could allow them to fly in 1G environments. These wings grow from the shoulderblades on the individuals back. The colour between these wings tends to be as varied as hair colour.

The Aquasi are a sub-species of humans that developed gills and webbed fingers and feet, allowing them to breathe underwater and swim effectivly while submerged. their cities are often considered the most beautiful in Fasia. The Aquasi have historically been one of the most widespread of the Fasian peoples, since they do not rely on land to build civilizations.

The Sürunen are a Human sub-species that developed a reptilian appearence as they survived in the deserts of Fasia. They are the most noticable deviation of all the sub-spcies of Fasia due to their repitlian adaptations. The Sürunen also controled the largest amount of land, (Not counting the Aquasi, who had vast underwater territories) claiming an entire continent-wide desert as their own.

History

Like many worlds in Verpletter, Fasia had no sentient life on it until various ships settled the planet after the Seal-Off of Verpletter. The Humans that landed there settled various areas of the planet, as each area had something unique to offer, and would benefit the survival of Humanity as a whole. Due to the unique properties of Fasia, the humans that evolved in these regions became seperate mutant sub-species.

These various sub-species developed their own cultures and engaged in conflict with one another, with species such as the Qar-Qar wanting Fasian unity, while others sought more for their own interests. Various complex maps and territories began to become carved out as the species combatted one another. some of the wars that were waged became brutal global conflicts.

Of all the species on Fasia, a noteworthy one is the Ororks, whom became the scapegoats for many inndividuals who sought for someone to blame whenever things started to go wrong for their territories or species at large. An exception to this was the qar-Qar, whom refused to scapegoat the Ororks. This in and of itself often led to conflict.

The arrival of The Commune Federation on Fasia marked a turning point for the world. Upon arriving, in spite of there being conflict and resistance to it, the species all joined as members of the Federation. This led to them forging peace and working together to mutual benefit.

In the millennia since then, Fasia has become one of the most important wolrds to the Federation, due to it's high population, diversity, and cultural exports.

Geography

The geography of Fasia is a complex matter, due to the variety of life there, and the way the continents align. It can be divided up into three parts - Landmass, oceans, and territories.

Landmass

Fasia is divided up into nine continents, which are oriented around major lots of land. there are several landmasses which make up these continents. Fasia has a wide variety of environments on these continents, ranging from deserts, to jungles, forest, plains, and mountainous regions. It is very Earth like in its variety of environments, accounting for nearly every type of environment.

The continents are named as follows:

Kriofush

Kriofush (1) is located in the northern hemisphere, and is noteably full of rocky mountains, particularly along the south and western coastlines, which are called the Hevakon Ranges. The center of the continent is home to Mount Jezzamar, the highest point on Fasia. The Scattered Channel is located in the west, which one must cross in order to reach the continent Eosira from Kirofush. The Ciliren forest is located along the Narrow Pass, which connects Kriofush to Vaubron in the south-east of the continent.

Vaubron

Vaubron (2) goes across both the equator and into the southern hemisphere. There are two major mountain ranges on the continent, the northern one, which is closest to Kriofush and the Narrow Pass, which is called The Fearsome Peaks, and one along the southern coastline, known as the Yukenari Highlands. It is also home to the Krudkaz Jungles along the equaitor and eastern coastline, across from Muzeron and in the north-east of the continent. There are several forests on this continent.

Muzeron

Muzeron (3) is divided into two main landmasses connected by a narrow landmass known as the Plesso Pass. the southern landmass is home to a major mountain range known as the Haswey Tips. The northern landmass has scattered mountain ranges, and the small Maharqa Desert. These two landmasses are surrounded by a series of over three thousand small islands. It is located between Kirofush, Vaubron, and Erosia heading east.

Shezoa

Shezoa (4) is an archipeligo continent in the southern hemisphere. In spite of being located near the poles, it is kept warm due to a series of volcanos and underground lava flows, kept in check thanks to modern technology. As a result, the region is a tropical area, home to the Gheccarzurd and Dudgad Og Jungles. The many islands across the archipeligo give home to many unique ecosystems

Gluyan

Gluyan (5) is a mostly desert continent, covered by what is refered to collectivly as the Gluyan Desert. The eastern section is home to the Biting Tips mountain range. There are several major islands which surround the continent. Gluyan is in a strategic location, between four other continents.

Eosira

Eosira (6) is the largest continent on Fasia, and is home to nearly all different biome types. There are deserts in the south-west and in the east, with rocky terrain around the centre, and mountainous regions scattered throughout the region. The Medarkrog, Gilzud Zrurd, and Bigvadh En jungles are scattered across the continent, as are the Omaxina, Miadithas, Zylquinal, Keyyra, and Thexidor forests. There are several tundra regions within the continent.

Xavruin

Xavruin (7) is a small continent made up primarily of two major islands. It is home to a minor set of mountains in the northern region, known as the Kapusdes Heights. The southern region of the continent is a rocky region, with very little complex plantlife.

Weuriyaes

Weuriyaes (8) is a large island, home to a large desert running through the center of the continent known as the Arid Expanse. In the north and south, there are more mountain ranges, the Slopes of Desh'ran'ar in the north and the Shadan Cliffs in the south. An artificial forest made from exported plants exists at the southern coast of the continent, which is refered to as the Xyrmys Forest.

Neibluboris

Neibluboris (9) is the northernmost continent on Fasia, and is a particularly cold area of the planet, taking up a large chunk of the northern pole. It is home to a large tundra biome, as well as a number of large trees.

Oceans

Fasia has multiple identified oceans, their names normally relating to something of relevence or something in their history to warrent remembering.

Territories

Territories refers to the various settlements that had been made throughout the history of Fasia's various species combatting one another and claiming territory. Territories are usually colonies which have in moder modern era's been turned into interconnected cities. Territories are now administrative regions.

Shadan Cliffs

The Shadan Cliffs are a southern mountain range on Weuriyaes, and were often the subject of rumoured supernatural lights in the skies. In the modern era, it is beleived that those lights may have been connected to alien visitors to the planet, though this is unconfirmed. The region is now acommunications hub that ensures all trans-solar communications are spread across all of Fasia in real time.

Sphere of Responsibility

Due to the immense population, culture, and importance to The Commune Federation, Fasia has a lot of influence over it's neighbouring systems. It has almost become a tiny nation within the Federation, having influence on all systems within 25 light years of it. Many of these worlds have been colonized by Fasian species as well, giving them a deep connection to the Fasian homeworld.

Due to this, Fasia has what it considers to be a Sphere of Responsibility around it - It considers it a moral duty to assist all worlds within this sphere, and to provide them with whatever assistance they may require. The Commune Federation approves of this system of Mutual Aid, and assists Fasia whenever it requires this assistance.

This Sphere of Responsibility has not needed to be enforced much within the last five millenia as the Commune Federation has expanded. Nevertheless, the solar systems within the Sphere of Responsibility remain close to Fasia.

Trade

Fasia is a center of Trade, particularly within it's Sphere of Responsibility. Goods and services are commonplace throughout the world, which they export in exchange for imports that they benefit from. some of these exports include Elaven botanical knowledge, Dwanvo craftmanship and ship retrofitting, and Sürunen commerce.

All of the various species of Fasia offer unique aspects to trade. This has made Fasia an incredibly wealthy world within the Federation.

The Sürunen House of Trade takes many responsibilities for the trade of Fasia, as they have the most experience with it. This does not preclude other groups from being involved in the trade around Fasia, though the House of Trade is easily the most notable and recognizable of these groups.
