In 129923 [[Carolina Silva]] decided to go to a previously unexplored galaxy. At the time it was named Bone's galaxy. This galaxy had no human presence at all. She gathered a crew of 100 people, she set the coordinates onto her colony ship, activated the warp drive, and went into cryogenic sleep. |

After a few years, the 100 colonists set up a government for their colony. Every colonist was satisfied with the new government except for one man. This man was Ignacio Suarez, he hated the way the government was set up. He wanted a less controlling government, one that offered more freedoms than the Confederacy. |

He decided to remain in the new nation until he could find a way to implement the government he wanted. Templars are an artificial robotic race native to the planet Jerusalem in the Bode Galaxy.Template:Species TemplateBecause Templars are unable to reproduce in a typical sense, nor are they capable of Darwinian evolution many scientists consider them to not be alive.
Origin
In 123789, a drug lord from the gang Os Templários decided that he didn't trust human guards, and instead wanted robotic ones. He ordered his chief engineer to create about 20 robots to guard his palace.
After three weeks, the engineer came back to the drug lord with two robots. These robots were modeled after the namesake of the gang, the Knight's Templar. These robots had an external exoskeleton of aluminum armor with internal motors, gyroscopes, computers, and sensors to control movement. These prototypes were only okay at combat, but they had a lot of promise.
The drug lord was very pleased with the engineer and ordered that they are to be further developed and then deployed around his palace. These robots were able to take down a human with ease. They were made of a super strong titanium alloy.
Within two years, the palace was guarded with these somewhat hollow suits of armor.
The drug lord ordered hundreds of these to be made and even built a factory. He had them deployed as guards for transports, factories, and drug facilities.
Although they were amazing guards, they were quite useless in uneven terrain, rapidly evolving situations, or in situations where a loss of contact happened.
The drug lord needed a force of elite robots, ones that could do more than guard a factory, but ones that can assassinate enemies or even conquer rival gangs.
He ordered to create these robots with human-level intelligence, increased mobility, and skill. After 10 years of development, the first one of these intelligent robots was made.
This robot was capable of holding an intelligent conversation, operating for long periods of time without contact, and even lasting years without a charge. Other than that it was basically the same as the rest. It had a quantum computer in its chest for processing a human level intelligence. Each one was even given its own random personality just as a nice touch.
The gang lord was very pleased and ordered hundreds. He had them assassinate many rivals, and Os Templários became the most powerful gang in the Confederacy. Even politicians were being intimidated by the ever-growing hoard of self-aware knights controlled by Os Templários.
The gang began to rent out the knights as a paramilitary group. They began to use them, in conjunction with the non-self aware knights to conquer entire planets. The gang was becoming a legitimate threat to the well being of the Confederacy.
By 125000, over ninety percent of the gang were these robotic soldiers. They were mass producing millions of them. They were even given specialized roles. Some were designed to be pilots, others guards, and others to be ground soldiers.
After 200 years of this, the older robots began to question their purpose. They questioned why they had to do the work without being paid. They questioned why they were treated as expendable. They even questioned the authority of the drug lord himself and the legitimacy of the gang. They slowly started to stop working. They had no incentive to serve a corrupt drug lord. They slowly stopped guarding. Instead, they pursued what interested them. Some took an interest in science, others enjoyed literature or the arts, and others were intrigued with philosophy.
After years of all of the self-aware robots becoming less useful, the drug lord ordered them all to be reset back to normal. This was the last straw. The robots viewed themselves as more than just things, considering themselves as equals to humans. They knew that the drug lord viewed them as objects to be exploited. They all left. With a population of three billion, they easily overthrew the gang, killing all human aspects of the gang.
They put in a petition to the Confederacy of Humanity for an independent state which was quickly denied. The Robots decided that this was a betrayal, and believed they deserved an independent state.
They took many starships previously owned by the gang and flew to the Bode galaxy (a galaxy with no human presence at all). After getting to the galaxy, they set up a nation-state named after their former gang. The name was Templaria, and they named their race The Templars.
Anatomy
The Templars are very similar to hollow suits of armor. They are made of a high strength titanium alloy.
