The Kshi are a race of cybernetic organisms common in the Sheol Galaxy. While originally created to be effective soldiers, they have since became fully independent and are widely recognized as fully sapient beings. The Kshis are the majority race in the Fusion of Crowns and the most numerous fully artificial races in the Local Universe.

The first Kshi was created in 19,812 CE in a program by the Neo-Terrans to create effective soldiers that had all the advantages of robots while avoiding the legal restrictions surrounding them. The Kshis proved greatly effective in battle, greatly cutting down on casualties while greatly increasing effectiveness. In 20,704, the Kshis largely began serving Beatrix, a powerful artificial intelligence that promised them freedom rather than simply remaining as property. As Beatrix began losing ground, it sent large amounts of supplies to the Sheol Galaxy in an attempt to continue its campaign. Most of the still operating Kshis would find themselves stranded in Sheol when Beatrix collapsed.

After briefly clashing with their former masters and forcing them to travel to the Occult Galaxy, the Kshis formed a monarchical nation that still exists to this day.
