Welcome to Amaranth Legacy

The Amaranth Legacy is a collaborative world building project centered on Amaranth, a force of creation representing the very idea of "narrative." In other words, the wiki is devoted to speculative fiction, fiction in which realism is not prioritized. Whether that takes on the form of magic or future technologies, our community is devoted to exploring and refining fictional worlds. With a history of over ten years and (currently) 3,895 user-created articles, we would be delighted to see your ideas, whether they contribute to existing canons or are a part of your own!

Our goal

Any setting, whether a continent or a galaxy, is a huge thing, vast in both space and time. Think about how complicated just your town or city is, now imagine creating one of your own. Daunting, right?

We are interested in tackling this challenge, but with worlds of magic or space travel. We are proud of our efforts so far, and we have used nearly every writing style, from short stories to articles mimicking primary sources on history (most of which can be found on our archive [1]. We tell tales of interstellar empires, brave tales of knights, magic, and advanced technology. In short, speculative fiction usually taking place on fictional worlds or galaxies.

Are you new here?

If you are just starting out in the Amaranth Legacy community, perusing a few articles will be an invaluable insight into not just the lore but the very idea of the wiki itself. Another way to get connected is through our Discord server. Talking about ideas is an incredible way to learn about the setting as well as to refine one's own writing ability. "Iron sharpens iron," they say. Also, we have a pretty simple project rules page in case you are concerned.

Interested in Sharing your Ideas?

Everything you need is on the left of the screen. On the bottom, the person icon lets you make an account. To search, click on the magnifying glass. To create a new page, simply search the title you want and click "Edit or Create Page."

Formatting articles is based on the markup language called Wikitext, the same language that powers Wikipedia. It can be daunting at first, so please ask if you have any questions!

Idea

The Amaranth Succession Project is a single, coherent narrative spanning countless years across three distinctive universal eras.

One of the most prevalent thematic elements of the Wiki is the concept of "Universal Succession," wherein the fabric of the universe will drastically change following a great event of creation or destruction. What defines a separate universe from another is that it contains inherent traits which make it metaphysically impossible for it to exist at the same time as other eras. By definition, this means that all universes are unique and isolated in their own right, however, crossover between them can occur in specific instances. Currently there are three eras of the universe, colloquially referred to as "realms." In chronological order they are:

  • Galvyria, which primarily consists of the two dynamic regions of Caledwyr and Glawiad, representing the foundational domains Hviyam and Aeter respectively.
