Triton Designation

The triton designation is a widely recognized system that divides nearly every aerospace vessel into four general categories based on their flight capabilities in air and space.

Spaceplanes

Spaceplanes, also known as starplanes or shuttles, are small craft that are able to sustain stable flight in both air and space as a result of their aerodynamic construction. Their greatest constraint is their size, unable to properly endure the standard Seraph drive's continuum distortions. Short-range drives are rigged instead, able to travel in the vicinity of a planetary body's orbital surroundings, yet incapable of enduring extensive intrastellar travel. In order to reach orbit, mass drivers are commonly employed in larger settlements, vastly reducing the time and fuel usage.
