Spirit Nebula

The Spirit Nebula, or Khiros, is a sapphire diffuse nebula found within the Vyro sector of Avaria, roughly one hundred and fifty seven light-years from Veres. Born only a hundred thousand years ago, the starborne ancestors on Lathos observed the bright flash in their skies gently unfolding into a resplendent astral cloud over the century. That event has vastly influenced starborne culture and religion even beyond their first voyages to the stars. Ancient cave paintings of the nebula's birth are preserved on Lathos to this day.

A number of probes have been sent into the Spirit Nebula's abyss during the height of the Old Bubble. Hing, a garden planet colonized during that time, remains the only significant population center in the nebula. The Hyades Preservation Accord has since barred any additional development in the Spirit Nebula in hopes of retaining it as a historical site.

In the present day, the Spirit Nebula is widely renowned across the constellation for being home to the Kyard Velos company, notably producing the Souli variety of wine at Hing's vast vineyards.
