Within Aylathiya, the default mode of living is to cling to natural bodies. While currently a cultural practice, preferring natural bodies emerged from unreliability of ancient space habitats. In Sedrua especially, habitats were so dangerous that few would willingly leave their home worlds. By the Un'oit Ascension, however, advances in space technology were forcibly granted to most of Aylathiya. Around Argotihya, the majority of people live in space, separated from the vacuum by centimeters of material. This situation proved advantageous as Argothiya has remained a major system throughout most of its history. Currently, the gas giant of Vossen is the capital of the Commonwealth of Aggregate Aylathiya.

Argothiya is located within one of Cosmoria's arms. Its intense solar winds created a halo of gas and dust around itself, tearing a hole in the arm around its heliosphere. The star's five planets, while subjected to harsh radiation, are protected from dangers of interstellar space. The planets of Occalia and Kajupto spawned the Timporians and the Viphians respectively. Punished with constant radiation, the life of these worlds evolved in unique ways. The molten Occalia has an ecosystem dominated by quickly growing and depositing igneous rocks. On Kajupto, immobile structures take advantage of the metal-rich crust to grow. Their spores, capable of movement, make up the bulk of the ecosystem as well as the longest phase of the Viphian lifecycle. All worlds of Argothiya host native life, from the acid pools of Sechfier to the clouds of Vossen and every planet, and major moon, in between. Thanks to Ma'eau, the system is exceptionally fertile.

Planets

Name Type Moons Description
Occalia Lava World Camelt, Xolt Occalia is the home of the Timporians and a high-energy ecosystem in which distinctions between "producer" and "consumer" organisms does not exist. In fact, niches as a whole do not exist on this world. The organisms on Occalia are technically just spindles of fiber, muscle, and nerve tissue that inhabit or construct large inorganic structures to inhabit. This grants nearly every species the ability to change its appearance, shape, and even size at will. Small rocks, drops of molten material, and even other organisms can be inhabited in this way. The Timporians are made of a little over a dozen of these spindles. They evolved tolerance of other individuals which allowed for them to form civilization.

Kajupto Marine World Nacre Kajupto is a metal-rich world home to a low-energy ecosystem in which classical predator-prey relationships are uncommon. Given the small amount of light that it receives, there is not enough plant-life to sustain what would normally be called "animals." However, massive, slow-growing, plants dominate the surface. Kajupto's oceans are nearly entirely occupied by these plants. Their highly-evolved defense mechanisms make life in the oceans difficult. Most plants spend centuries accumulating enough energy to release spores to be released onto land. These mobile spores compete for resources and create a unique terrestrial ecosystem in which the gathering of nutrients, not energy, is the greatest goal. The Viphians evolved cooperation and, eventually, intelligence as their spore phase increased in length.

Sechfier Ocean World None Sechfier is a somewhat small desert world that clings on to a thin atmosphere despite Argothiya's punishing radiation. Single-celled organisms thrive in seasonal ponds that form at the poles. During the summer, they gather all of the nutrients they need to brave the harsh winters. The small cells completely dry themselves out before freezing, bypassing what would otherwise be deadly ice crystal formation.

Yuhapta Terrestrial World Ano, Amaalt, Mahs Yuhapta is a frigid world whose temperatures never allow for liquid water. However, without enough liquid methane to sustain significant cryospheric ecosystem, the world remains barren. Life on Yuhapta was only discovered ten thousand years before the present day and, by then, significant populations have already settled the planet. It is unclear if this life was introduced by Ma'eau or is an invasive species, but it seems highly adapted to the environment on Yuhapta. Life on this small world is usually concentrated within aquifers deep under the surface.

Vossen Gas Giant Roki, Ai, Pekoe, Boa, Gumi, Yowacht, Korosch Vossen is a large gas giant that contains more mass within it than twice that of its fellow planets. With a plethora of minor moons and seven major satellites, Vossen had long since been a target for colonization by both of Argothiya's species. By 70,000 CE, more people lived around Vossen and its moons than either home world. Since its moons made transportation, communication, and manufacturing much easier, it naturally grew to dominate the politics of the system. One of the largest megastructures, by sheer mass, is the Vossen Bands, two orbital rings that stretch across the planet. Cells suspended in Vossen's atmosphere represent most of the biomass in the Argothiya system.
