Template:!Galaxy InfoboxCallurim is the smallest satellite of Florathel. Callurim's structure is unique, as it is the only known example of what is known as a Faint Blue Galaxy, a small dwarf irregular galaxy undergoing a burst of star formation. Alongside this, it is a Low Surface Brightness galaxy, another rare occurrence. In terms of politics, Callurim recently came out of a brutal battle between a coalition of rebel groups hiding in the nearly invisible outer reaches of the galaxy and the [TBA], a large, totalitarian nation which had absolute control over the core regions. The new nation which has risen in its place, the Federation of the Callurim Core, is currently under a transitional regime on the path to a democratic nation.
Astropolitical Climate
Callurim is unique in that its history seems to repeat itself almost exactly. After the fall of the Callurim Empire to the bands of rebels, the aforementioned rebels founded the Federation of the Callurim Core on its ruins. Just like the Empire, the FCC was initially very prosperous and democratic, but as of now it is falling back into the cycle of degeneration and corruption. A new set of rebel bands has arose in the Inner and Outer halos, and they are growing stronger and more disgruntled at the worsening conditions in the Federation.
Galactic Neighborhood
Callurim is a satellite galaxy of the Degelio Galaxy, the largest satellite of Florathel. The galaxy is found just outside the dark matter halo of Degelio, making it the middle satellite of that galaxy in terms of distance.
Astrography
Being an irregular galaxy, Callurim does not have a clear shape. However, it can generally be divided into four regions by the average density of stars.
Core
The Core of Callurim is the densest region of the galaxy. Because of Callurim's size, no central black hole is found in the core. The core region is the center of power of the Federation of the Callurim Core, the most powerful nation in the galaxy. This region essentially consists of a smooth distribution of stars which slowly become less dense until you hit the Inner Halo. This is where the major planet Ghurvan can be found.
Star-forming Regions
Within the Core lies a series of small regions which are entirely filled with various star-forming nebulae, creating a great preponderance of highly massive stars. These regions are therefore among the least populated parts of Callurim, but the regions were subject to massive resource extraction in the days before the Callurim Civil War.
Inner Halo
The Inner Halo is not really part of the halo of Callurim, as it is still visible as part of the galaxy from afar. This region is home to most of the rebel bands which are unrecognized by the FCC, and not that much else. The metallicity of stars in the Inner Halo generally hover around 0.05%. The halo
Outer Halo
The outer halo is the true halo of Callurim, extending beyond the borders of the galaxy and slowly merging into intergalactic space and the halo of the nearby Florathel. The outer halo is home to almost nothing except the most extreme rebel bands which even the other rebels booted out of their territory, as well as the oldest and most metal-poor stars in Callurim.
