Super Powers (Kite Comics)

'Superpower' is the term used to coin the abilities a person can develop after a strong emotional response, usually deriving from a traumatic experience. These powers can range from minor improvements to the person - such as slowed down aging, or improved stamina - to the ability to warp reality, or create constructs out of thin air.

The superpower the person develops does directly connect with the person themselves, or the thing that brought such a strong emotion upon them. An example of this would be the Agent Orange foot soldiers from the Vietnam War. As they were set on fire, the ones that did develop super powers had them related to pyrokinesis.

Powers are able to be inherited through a combination of genetic disposition and environmental factors. A child can't be born with powers, but by being related to someone with such, and growing up in an environment with powers, they are more likely to develop their own.

History

Humans have been documenting superpowers as far back as 35,000 BP. Powers seem to be directly connected to the human conscious, making them a constant throughout history. Many historical figures, such as Moses and Tlahuicole, are believed to have had their own superpowers, which would explain their feats.

It is also believed that most stories with demi-gods and other mythical characters could be exaggerations of things that truly did happen.

People with superpowers were used as soldiers throughout all of history, and are still used in the present day. It is not unheard of for strange and unbelievable stories to spread from these wars, and inflate everyday people with powers into untouchable demi-gods.
