Euria is a desolate, frozen world in the harsh outbacks of Midonia, encircling a blazing blue main-sequence star. Nearly dismissed as a standard icy body and left alone, Euria's unusual energy readings had sparked curiosity in the explorers. Tiny shards of ice had been harvested and analyzed, leading to the discovery of Kryzelite, a material that has remarkably abnormal heat-absorbing properties. Once the data had reached the populated systems, Erva Star Drives, a producer of warp drives, purchased the rights to Euria. Subsequently, a solitary outpost was constructed in order to mine and research the strange substance.
