Template:InfoboxPlanetUrgutu is the third planet of the Ugura System in the Ambrosia Galaxy. It is a warm, tidally locked D-Class world. It is home to many species of life, including the Ugnara. Urgutu, roughly translated, means "Mother"
General
Urgutu is a tidally locked desert world with vast regions of mountainous expanses across its entire surface. This is because the planet's tectonic plates are extremely active, constantly moving and shifting the planet's surface. Because of this extreme shifting, not many craters are on the surface, as they wither and smoothen thanks to this process. The surface of Urgutu has changed significantly throughout its history, from a volcanic hell world in its early life, to a warm desert throughout the majority of its history, to an Ecumenopolis of towering cityscapes.
Its thin atmosphere is entirely comprised of half carbon dioxide and oxygen, giving the planet its distinctive orange glow.
The planet's day side is a very warm expanse of sand, rock, and limestone. Because of this warmth, smaller organisms have developed there as they do not need complex organ functions to survive. While the planet's night side is a cold expanse of sand and snow. This snow is caused by the atmosphere freezing and landing on the surface. Larger organisms live in this region as they require the extra mass in order to survive. These larger organisms are very hostile to any other life and often attack it on sight.
Surprisingly, all life on the planet belongs to the Insecta family, all but the Ugnara as they are a primate species. The reason for this is that the primate that would become the Ugnara, out bred all other primate species at the time. Eventually, this ancient primate would become the only life on the planet to be mammalian. Bird and reptile life were unable to develop due to the extreme fluctuating temperature and thin atmosphere. The insects on the surface range in size from ⅛-inch long, to 51 feet long.
The Ugnara are by far the most famous life on the surface, with them being the only sentient life that shouldn't be a surprise. The Ugnara would have a long and varied history on the planet, from existing in small isolated tribes, to becoming a united species that would spread among several star systems.
The Ugnara would expand to all reaches across the planet, eventually turning the world into an Ecumenopolis, covering the entire planet in a large city. This has caused the atmosphere to slowly erode away, however artificial means implemented by the Ugnara keep the atmosphere from dissipating.
