Overview

Avaress Incorporated, local to the Sol system, is a corporation that makes thrusters, used by all rockets to move around through space, and produces metallic hydrogen, a popular propellant for its efficiency. With thrusters and propellant being necesarry for space travel, Avaress made itself a wealthy producer by specialising itself in propulsion during the late 21st century.

Grossing an average of 40,000 units per thruster with 1,000 spacecraft built a year, and a yearly expenditure of 15,000,000 credits a year for the upkeep of its shipyards, this puts Avaress Inc. at an average income of 25,000,000 units per year, making it the richest corporation within the Sol system.

Avaress Inc. however has known for sparking controversies; in 2513, an attempt to cut costs resulted in the engine failures of 13 spacecraft over the following decade. As spacecraft reach speeds of thousands of kilometers a second through space during interplanetary transits, an engine failure can leave emergency services with a challenging rescue, or leave a spacecraft plummeting at high speeds into a planet. By 2847, Avaress attempted to purchase plots of land that harboured ancient spacecraft remains belonging to the first humans to reach the moon. Both incidents left Avaress with many suits summing up to tens of millions of credits, and yet as of 2985 Avaress continues endangering cultural heritage and distant spacecraft.

Towards the 24th century, Avaress found itself working with Starshot Enterprises to help provide the required components for their new heavyweight freighters, but with the 2510s Starshot would launch a suit against Avaress for negligence and endangering their spacecraft. The court would find Avaress guilty, amounting to a fine of 12,000,000 credits.
