Myths, legends and strange tales are an integral part of Human culture, and spreading across space was no different, with new folklore and strange tales arising on each world we settle. From ghostly astronauts to secret organisations in the Kuiper Belt, this page will list each of the unique folklore, urban myths and phenomena around the Solar System.
Inner System
Venusian Cloud Diver
An urban myth widespread on Luna and oribital communities around Earth, with there being several tales of out-of-place astronauts, whether on the moon or in orbit.
The earliest account of this phenomena dates back to the mid 23rd century, in which a group of 3 astros claim to have memories of a fourth member whilst scouting out a potential mining site. Despite the legend's popularity, these can easily be dismissed as hallucinations, a trick of the mind or even some influence of Cosmic Ray Visual Phenomena.
Outer System
A supposed wormhole, rumoured to be orbiting around Neptune. The myth's origins are unclear although the earliest account can be traced back to the first manned expedition to the planet, in which a member of the crew is rumoured to have witnessed a "strange distortion" in the distance out the ship window.
This legend has gained a lot of popularity, and has been featured in multiple works of fiction, from movies to novels. The Solarian Confederation denies the existence of this object although that doesn't stop a few daring ones trying to search for it.
