Anlinear Teleosian is a logographic writing system designed around structural freedom.
Basics
Logograms can be physically connected or compounded to create a new meaning or signify possession, depending on context.
(PURPLE + RED = AMARANTH)
(ALITA + SPACEPLANE = ALITA'S SPACEPLANE)
Logograms can be placed closer to each other to suggest relevance; a group of logograms is called a 'constellation.'
(USᅠᅠᅠᅠᅠᅠᅠᅠᅠᅠᅠᅠAMARANTH PLANTS)
(FRANK ALITA'S SPACEPLANEᅠᅠᅠᅠᅠHEPBURN-KIRK OUTPOST)
Relationship lines can be used to directly state the relation between two logograms or constellations.
(US (GO TO) AMARANTH PLANTS)
(FRANK (ON) ALITA'S SPACEPLANE (GO TO) HEPBURN-KIRK OUTPOST)
Relationship lines can branch to link multiple constellations.
(US (GO TO*) AMARANTH PLANTS (*GO TO) FESTIVAL)
Tense particles are used to mark tense.
(US (GO TO*{PRESENT}) AMARANTH PLANTS (GO TO*{FUTURE}) FESTIVAL)
(FRANK (ON{IMPERATIVE}) ALITA'S SPACEPLANE (GO TO{FUTURE}) HEPBURN-KIRK OUTPOST)
In plain English:
"We're setting off to the amaranth plants, then we'll go to the festival"
"Frank, get on Alita's spaceplane, you're going to Hepburn-Kirk outpost"
An arc connecting two logograms and surrounding an unjoined logogram can be used to convey association
(DAVE (OUTPOST CREW{FUTURE}) BILL)
"Dave and Bill are joining the outpost crew"
If a tense particle is not used, present may be assumed.
(DAVE (OUTPOST CREW) BILL)
"Dave and Bill are a part of the outpost crew"
Placement of logograms and constellations is flexible. They can be arranged linearly, but can also form non-linear patterns. Shapes (usually circles) can be used to contain distinct sentences.
