Descriptions/Q&A
Template:InfoboxNationThe Shroud is possibly the most mysterious entity, or entities to exist within the omniverse. It is completely unknown on how The Shroud came to be, when it came to be, or where it got its massive amounts of power from. It is currently unknown if The Shroud is actually hostile, as all expedition forces sent to The Shroud haven't explored enough of it.
Physical Description
What we currently know about their physical description is that they have a language, and that they are made of a strange purple gas. This gas has no sedative effect, or any toxic effect. It can be breathed by any organism observed, and it safely exits the body in its same form. How this is achieved is still largely unknown.
Is it a nation?
The Shroud is described by most people as not being a nation at all, instead a place where you go after you die, or perhaps a universal plague doomed to wipe us all out. Either way, The Shroud is mostly accepted as a supreme collection of entities, that are currently doing no major harm to us as a whole.
Is The Shroud harming us?
The Shroud is only known to manifest in our current universe by sending worlds into its own dimension. This is currently known as 'Shrouding'. If the planet is inhabited by sapient organisms, it has a less of a chance of being Shrouded. If a city or cities are on the planet, the chance is even lower. But, it can still occur, even on technologically advanced places like Lokira or Earth.
What is Shrouding?
Shrouding is known to start with the planet's ground cracking open, similar to a magnitude 9 earthquake. The purple gas explained from earlier would then come through the cracks, and somehow multiply. With the gas being harmless, all it does is reduce view distance. But, that is only the beginning. In some cases, anyway.
Some events of Shrouding include balls of light, currently known as Shroud Spheres. These entities would rapidly come out of the cracks, and do nothing, but float and emit light, and heat.
What do these Shroud Spheres look like?
Shroud Spheres have a mean radius of 3 to 50 meters, and some include spikes, or other surface features. The surface of a Shroud Sphere is nearly impenetrable by any method tried, and Shroud Spheres themselves have a threat level of V because of this trait.
Shroud Spheres can die, though. It is possible to kill a Shroud Sphere if you apply 40 TeraPascals of pressure on its surface. When it is killed, a Shroud Sphere will be easily openable, to reveal a smaller crystalline sphere, which looks like amethyst.
This method of killing Shroud Spheres is being tested, and is working on Shroud Worlds that have Shroud Sphere infestations on them.
Weaponization
The Shroud has been weaponized on countless occasions. Most notably by the Xa'Thin Commonwealth, and possibly the Thesos Empire. How these empires do this feat is largely unknown to outsiders, but it involves taking energy from The Shroud, and focusing it. The carrier of the energy, whether it be a machine or an organism, would then release it, causing a beam. Similar energy releases have also occurred, such as a prolonged beam, and a 'fireball'. Releases like blinding light, and loud deafening noise caused by squeezing air have happened as well.
Shroud Matter
Shroud matter is an anomalous material, most commonly located around The Shroud, or Shroud Galaxies like the Archurion Galaxy.
Shroud Matter is prized throughout the multiverse, as its properties can allow its users to do countless things. Its large amount of packed energy can upgrade technology, make almost any robot sapient, open wormholes on a whim, and allow for Shroud Weaponry to become mass-produced.
The Seekers wanted to take this material from any universe they could, as it allowed for the gateway to ascendance. Their initial discovery of it appeared in Universe 7-L, after many ships had anomalous warnings all around them. They exploited its use, and it allowed for them to find richer universes in the long run.
